Placements & Internships : Most IT departments have well reputed companies that approach them for recruting students for on-campus internship placements. Companies like ARM, Microsoft, Google, Intuit, GE etc hire IT students for internships and offer a stipend varying anywhere between 20,000 to 40,000 per month. Students from Civil and Mechanical usually see no such opportunity, however the brand value of RVCE will make it easier to procure an internship off-campus.  RVCE is a brand in the nation. The placement department of RVCE boasts of having a long list of companies that come for placements. ARM, Google, Microsoft, GE, BMW, Intuit, Atkins, Total Environment, Brigade, Infosys, Wipro etc come to RVCE for placements. The average salary ranges anywhere between 3-4 lakhs per annum, while the highest has no limits. This year the highest package as yet stands at 19 LAKHS offered by Intuit. There are cases of students who have got 60LAKHS per annum at RVCE. The Alumni network is pretty good that guarantees placements.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : R V College of Engineering, Bangalore is one of the top 10 private engineering colleges in India. Competition to get an admit into RVCE is huge. Students across the country and outside the borders are eligible to apply to a program at RVCE provided they appear for an appropriate entrance exam and secure a meritorious rank. Students from Karnataka are required to take up either CET or COMED-K, while students outside Karnataka need to appear for COMED-K and secure a lower rank. A typical cutoff CET rank is around 400 and COMED-K is around 1000 for General Merit students. However, this ranking may extend up to 2000 and 4000 respectively for OBC candidates. CS and EC departments have cutoffs withing a rank of 100 and 200 for CET and COMEDK respectively. 

Fees & Scholarships : Course fee varies depending on the mode of admission. CET fee is around 50,000 per annum, COMEDK fee is aroung 1,60,000 per annum with additional 20,000-30,000 college fees per annum. Various scholarships are available to students based on merit and income. Alumni networks and government organizations offer scholarships to eligible candidates.  Students loans are easily sanctioned to students at RVCE because of the brand name associated with the college.

Academics & Faculty : Class timings vary with semester. Starts at 9 and may end once the day's schedule ends. 1-hour classes with at least two breaks is good enough. 3 internal exams per semester and one final examination. The college adopts CGPA system and works based on Continuous Internal Assessment. RVCE is known to deliver quality education and the method of teaching is flexible. It is altered to suit the requirements and works towards outcome based education. RVCE is relatively a good college to graduate from. Great on-campus experience.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are 4 hostels, one per students of each year. The hostels at RVCE are above average and maintain cleanliness. The food is good, but some may say it is bad because it becomes monotonous. The entire hostel expenditure including food may vary between 60,000-70,000 per annum. Free parking for hostelites. RVCE has one of the best infrastructures in the state. The labs and libraries are well equipped and aid in learning. WIFI is available to all students.

Clubs & Associations : RVCE encourages extra-curricular activities unlike most institutions. There are several clubs like Ashwa, Helios, Chimera, Vyoma, ACES-proposed ASCE student chapter, Antariksh etc. RVCE celebrates one of the biggest national techno-cultural fest 8th MILE which has a footfall nearing 10,000 students. Student life at RVCE is extremely good and a joyful one. Exceptions are universal and problems are not entirely avoidable. RVCE might pose a few unavoidable discrepancies, but facing them is an experience in itself.
