It is an Autonomous Institution affiliated to the Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). It is approved by UGC and accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). It is accredited 'A' by NAAC. UGC, New-Delhi in the year 2007 as conferred the prestigious Autonomous status to NMIT engineering college.
Nitte has ranked among the top 10 engineering colleges in Karnataka and is a leading Engineering Institute. I chose NMIT based on references and other parameters. This was certainly a very good choice as the college gave me a platform to develop as a well rounded individual. The academics, co curricular and extracurricular activities are well managed by the college. These factors along with the workshops and seminars help a lot when we start our career in the corporate world. The placements are good and guidance from the placement cell is a big support. The college also provides students with counselling and professional inputs for student who wants to pursue further studies abroad.
NMIT is a great college; they have a huge campus that hosts the Engineering college as well as other colleges. The hostel, library, gym and canteen facilities maintain good quality standards. The faculty is good and supportive.
Opportunities for innovative projects as well and Placement is good and the placement team trains and supports the students during the process. Many core companies visit the campus for all the departments. Anaadyantha, our college fest is very good as multiple events are conducted, many students across Bangalore participate, celebrities are invited and the environment is electrifying! NMIT provides a well-rounded development for the students. In my experience, I have learned much beyond my management degree (NMIT-MBA ). At NMIT, the faculty, the industrial training sessions, the interactive events, training conducted by placement cell all played a vital role in my personality development. Life at NMIT is never boring as the management supports several co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Sports, NSS and NCC activities are encouraged very well. I thank NMIT for giving me the platform to develop my professional skills and evolve myself as an industry-ready professional.
The PG courses are well managed so as to prepare you for the current technologies and industrial needs. Experienced Professors and faculties guide you in the course and research work.
There are different clubs in the colleges. Students and parents from whole bangalore attend the main fest ANADHYANTA. Various competitions, fashion shows, demos, exhibition from all departments are showcased and the main attraction of the fest is the concert where every year well known celebrities perform.
Class timings are fairly strict and properly conducted.

The support I got form my HOD and faculty members helped me overcome my shortcomings and built my confidence. Although I’m not from the IT or CS department, the placement cell got us campus recruitment opportunities from many-core companies.
As for the faculty, professional exposure, library facilities, etc, my experience has been very good, I have always got the guidance, support, and exposure required for the academic as well as industry-related knowledge.
I had enjoyed the campus life too. In addition to that, the vast spread of greenery across the huge campus gives a feeling of international university.
College has air-theatre, basketball ground, volleyball courts, and football ground.
Intercollege and techno-cultural festivals like Anaadayantha give major exposure to the students.
The daily routine is from 9:00 am. Teaching is good here.
The student societies and clubs are there in the campus.
The classes start at 8.45 am and end at 12.35 pm. Assignments will be given after each module completes which will carry some marks and also helpful for exams. There will be three Mid sem exams (MSE) which will be conducted once for a month. The quality of teaching is good with experienced teachers. The methods they follow are resolving practical teaching are good.
The student clubs are there in every branch which will work better. The main fest in college is Anadyanta which will be for 3 days. There are also other functions conducted like an ethnic day. The college life was good.
The daily routine is typically hard. The mode of teaching of facilities are very good they treat us as a friend and sit with us in each and every difficult task. My college is very good.
Each and every deapartment have own community. Our MCA department has SPARKS. The main festival of college is ANADYANTA which is celebrated on huge atomshphere. My college life very intresting.

Admission to B. E is through CET, COMED –K, management quota.
Government of Karnataka conducts Common Entrance Test tentatively in the month of April every year. Karnataka domicile students can apply for this test and the allotment of the seats is done online. 45% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through CET. In addition to this, 5% of Super numerary quota seats are also made available for the meritorious- economically weaker students with the tuition fee waiver provision. Consortium of the managements of the private colleges of Karnataka conducts this test tentatively in the month of May every year. Both, Karnataka & Non Karnataka students can appear for this test. 30% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through COMED-K test.

Candidates seeking admission should have completed 12 years of education under any Indian Education Board or as applicable for the foreign students. Students who have passed or who will appear for qualifying examinations under the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalents like AISSCE/ IB/ ISC are eligible to apply for the Entrance Test.
1) Entrance Examination for Designing: 25% weightage
