University of Agricultural Sciences, [UAS] Bangalore was inaugurated by Dr. Zakhir Hussain, the Vice President of India on 24 August 1964. In 1969 Smt. Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister inaugurated the GKVK campus. University of Agricultural Sciences, UAS has 4 colleges in Bangalore, Mandya, Hassan, and Chintamani. In 1974 Home science college was started at Dharwad to impart home science education in rural areas. The university has begun its academic activities by offering degree programs in agriculture and veterinary.

UAS, Bangalore admissions offers B.Sc, B.Tech in agriculture, M.Sc, Ph.D., and certificate programs. The university aims to develop technical manpower in agriculture and attain higher agricultural productivity.

The classes are quite hectic and get over at 5 in the evening sometimes. The gate for the girls hostel even closes at 6:30 so it's a bit tiring.


CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

The college has its magazine committee, students association and student counsellors.Sports and events are also good. the university students won several matches at natinal level and state level.

We used to celebrate Independence day, Republic day, college annual fest, fresher's party and send-off parties as well. college life was awesome it gave me good opportunity to learn many things in my life and wear graduation as a crown on my head.

1.      Candidates desirous of seeking admission to the Under-graduate degree pro­grammes should have compulsorily taken the COMMON ENTRANCE TEST con­ducted during 2015 by the CET Cell, Karnataka. The University does not conduct separate Common Entrance Test for admissions. Candidates who have not taken Common Entrance Test - 2015 of CET Cell, Karnataka are not eligible for admission as already notified in the Notification No. R/UAS(B), (D) & KVAFSU (Bidar)/ UGAdmn/ 2015-16

2.      In addition to 2nd year PUC Marks, the CET marks obtained from CET Cell, Karnataka in the subjects of PCMB shall be considered for admission. However, for admission to seats reserved for Agriculturists/ Children of Agriculturists, a Practical Test will be conducted by the University.

3.      Reservation of Seats: Excluding the All India quota under ICAR, New Delhi, and reser­vation of seats for various categories will be made in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Government of Karnataka. Provision is also made for admission to the Kashmiri Migrants. There is also provision to admit Foreign Nationals/ NRIs/ Children of NRIs on payment of Institutional Economic Fee. However, taking Common Entrance Test conducted by CET, Cell, Karnataka is not required for Kashmiri migrants/ Foreign Nationals/ Children of NRIs / ICAR candidates.
