RV college of engineering is an excellent engineering institution whose admissions are done on merit. You can apply for the institution via CET rank or your COMEDK ranking. Students above 100 ranking in CET have a chance of getting a seat in computer science, the competition for the seats in this college is immense. The college doesn't have its own entrance examination, but surely evaluates the students potential to the maximum. The institution expects the student to have a minimum of 70% in each mathematics and science each in 10 STD, and minimum of 65% in mathematics and science in PU 2( State board). The cut off for computer science for the years (2017) is 114(KCET), (2016) is 138(KCET) and so on.

R V College of Engineering, Bangalore is one of the top 10 private engineering colleges in India. Competition to get an admit into RVCE is huge. Students across the country and outside the borders are eligible to apply to a program at RVCE provided they appear for an appropriate entrance exam and secure a meritorious rank. Students from Karnataka are required to take up either CET or COMED-K, while students outside Karnataka need to appear for COMED-K and secure a lower rank. A typical cutoff CET rank is around 400 and COMED-K is around 1000 for General Merit students. However, this ranking may extend up to 2000 and 4000 respectively for OBC candidates. CS and EC departments have cutoffs withing a rank of 100 and 200 for CET and COMEDK respectively.

Engineering entrance exams like KCET and COMEDK UGET are the required exam for which the student must appear and an option for admission through Management quota is available. Cutoffs are generally higher than other engineering colleges who provide admission through these entrance exams.
