Lady Hardinge Medical College was set up in the year 1916. The hospital and college were formally initiated in this year under the direction of Lord Hardinge. In the year 1950, the institute got affiliated to the University of Delhi and the postgraduate courses were initiated in 1954. In 1956, the Kalawati Saran Children's Hospital was built along with the college. The institution's management was taken over by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in 1978. Since then, the college has been providing high-quality education to students across the country.

LHMC Admission 2020

Interested candidates who want to join MBBS course must have passed class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the main subjects with a minimum of 50% marks.

  • Students belonging to the ST/ SC categories, the minimum marks required is 40% in class 12. A valid score in the NEET Exam is also required.
  • Students seeking admission in the MD/MS course must have passed MBBS from a recognised university with one year of internship.
  • For the Postgraduate Diploma, eligibility is the same. But, for both courses, the final selection will depend upon the marks obtained in the NEET PG Examination.
  • Enrolment in the MCh (Paediatric Surgery) will depend upon the performance in the MS degree from a reputable university.

LHMC Application Form 2020

Lady Hardinge Medical College offers MBBS and BDS courses at UG level and various PG Diploma, MD, MS, M.Sc. and M.Ch. at PG level. All the courses are recognized by the Medical Council of India.

  • Admissions into MBBS and BDS courses are offered through NEET PG, which is a national level examination conducted by CBSE.
  • The annual intake into MBBS Course is 200 seats at LHMC, New Delhi.
  • 85% of seats are filled by Delhi University (under Delhi Quota) through NEET UG  and 15 % seats are filled by DGHS under All India Quota.
  • Admissions into PG Diploma, MD and MS courses are done through NEET PG .
  • For M.Ch, selection is done on the basis of NEET SS.

LHMC UG Admission 2020

LHMC offers MBBS and BDS courses at UG level. The minimum eligibility criteria are 10+2 from a recognized board in Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry subjects with 50% aggregate (40% in case of reserved categories). Admission is done on the basis of rank/score in NEET UG followed by a counselling process.

Key points:

  • The minimum age of the candidate should be 17 years as on December 31 of the admission year.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years (Relaxable up to 5 years for reserved categories).
  • The candidates who have passed from Patrachar Vidyalaya or National Institute of Open Schooling will be eligible under 85% Delhi Quota.
  • Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India who have passed Class 11th and 12th within the Delhi Union Territory are eligible for admission in 85% Delhi Quota
  • Candidates seeking admission under PwD category will be required to appear before Medical Board of Faculty of Medical Sciences, Delhi University.
  • Selected candidates will be required to undergo medical examination by the medical officers appointed. Candidates found medically unfit will not be admitted.

LHMC PG Admission 2020

LHMC offers PG Medical courses and PG Diploma courses in a number of specializations. The intake varies for each course. Applicants desiring admission into PG Diploma, MD and MS courses, should be MBBS Graduates and must have qualified NEET PG for admission. Candidates who possess MD/MS/DNB)/ Provisional Pass Certificate or an equivalent recognized qualification are eligible for admission in M.Ch. and admission will be based on rank/score in NEET SS.
