Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com] {Hons.}, batch of 2017
  • The daily college routine is manageable. You can choose your Daily routine. If you choose to be in academics and cultural society as well, you are going to be really busy. The studies are not so hectic.
  • Honestly, the quality and method of teaching is not even at par with other universities but the exposure is comparitively high.
  • Experience is very enriching, life is very dynamic and you get to learn a lot if you are willing to.

Master of Commerce [M.Com], batch of 2016

  • The quality and method of teaching is too good. Teachers are well trained and have lot of knowledge. They also provide us with assignments to prepare for exams.
  • Overall experience is great, proud to be here.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc], batch of 2020

The daily routine is not at all hectic. We get free hours between the lectures and are mostly free till about 1 or 2 pm daily leaving a lot of time for indulging in extracurricular activities for the students. There are a no. of societies that students can take part into and apart from academics, there is scope for overall growth and personality development for everyone. The college life is great for all the fests and events all around the year and the various hang out spots on the campus that helps students have a gala time in college.

There are about 20-30 societies in our college, all really indulging and informative in their own way. There are performing societies, societies related to academics, nature, social service, etc. I, myself, am a part of a performing society, Nakshatra, and it has helped me Evolve as a person. Within a year, I've experienced the on-stage glory as well as the backstage hustle and I feel I have an edge over my batch mates who are not really involved in any such extracurricular activities. The college life has a plethora of events and Fests happening all around the year. Almost every day, there is an event in the college, be it cultural, technical or sports. Hindu College offers you the Best college life you could've imagined.

What are the hostel facilities in Hindu College

Asked By: Anonymous 23 May 2016

Hi Sweta,

Hostel Facilities

Hostels in academic institutions are the epicenter of the dynamics of the campus life.  Spread over vast area and surrounded by green cover, encompassing gardens, inside and outside lawns, Hindu College Hostel, for over a half century has been providing fuel and force to the life and motion of College’s liberal democratic academic culture. Hindu College Hostel, with its architectural grandeur and aesthetics, has been an abode to many luminaries in a wonderful kaleidoscope that the time-space spectrum is.
Situated next to the sports complex, the Hostel is a spacious structure with 119 rooms enclosing eight lawns with rose beds and hedges. The Hostel provides residential facilities to about two hundred undergraduate and postgraduate male students. The Common Room provides the residents recreational facilities such as Table-tennis, Carom-board, Chess-board, and a separate TV room apart from the newspapers and magazines to keep them on the qui vive.
Admissions are strictly on the basis of merit and the resident students are expected to maintain the spirit of camaraderie and dignity. The guiding principle for the Hindu College community has been to uphold democratic and egalitarian values and strive towards intellectual excellence.

The Hostel is managed by the Hostel Committee which is constituted by the Staff Council of the College and executed by the Warden in consultation with the Principal.

Dr. Poonam Sethi ,Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce is the current Warden.

The Hostel Office and the Warden’s Residence, located within the Hostel premises, are integral part of the Hostel. There are several employees to look after the daily chores in the hostel. They include an office clerk, a mess manager, mess/room bearers, cooks, watchmen, janitors, gardener and a few others for kitchen and pantry work. In addition, there is a dry cleaner and a newspaper vendor to provide services to the resident students. The health services are made available to the residents by the WUS Health Center located within the University Campus.
