ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • You have good teachers in VIT University. The international exposure you get is unparalleled. It is impossible to follow up with everything that's going on in the college.
  • The daily routine schedule for each student is set by the student post 1st semester. So it varies on the number and type of subjects the student has taken up. You have a lot of extracurricular activities to choose from, ranging from college to international platforms.
CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS:
  • The overall college life is great at VIT University.
  • You have more than adequate access to clubs and societies, from all domains. The two major events are Gravitas (tech fest) and Riviera (cult fest). Since there are about 180 (were when I was there) clubs and societies it's not possible to name them here. To mention a few- Toastmasters, MAD, and ISOI.

QVIT university Placement

I want to know about the placement scenario of VIT university.

Asked By: Shashank,
A Answer By: GetmyuniEnterprise
  • The placement scenario was pretty good for CS/IT branches at VIT Vellore.

    Approximately 25–30 super dream companies visited this year (till Sept). Obviously, this count will increase and we have 5–6 more super dream companies lined up for October. Also, many companies will visit the campus next semester.

    Microsoft and Cisco were two super dream companies that hired in double digits (12–16, I guess). Apart from that, another 10–15 students(mostly GDC, 2 for IDC who did an internship) got PPO from Microsoft.

    Some 20 students will get to do an internship at Cisco through their CCNA program. They will be converted to FTEs based on their performance during the internship period.

    Now you do the math to find out the number of hires by these two companies. :p

    The highest package was offered by Amazon(27lacs -> 3 students).

    Directi(26 lacs -> 1 student), Paypal(21lacs -> 7 students), De-Shaw(25 lacs -> 3 students).

  • Some 60–80 dream companies came till September. The number will reach 100 by the end of this semester. Notable dream companies were Amadeus, Teradata, Netscape, Sapient, Deloitte, Dell, HSBC, ZS Associates, Zoho, Wells Fargo, Blackrock etc. Approximately 400 students got placed in dream companies till September.
