VIT University Cut Off

Vellore Institute of Technology cut off is the closing rank of undergraduate engineering courses in VIT Vellore University. In engineering courses, candidates get rank based on their scores in the Entrance Exam based on the closing rank, they are called for the further selection process.

Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam is a university level test conducted by the VIT University for admission to various branches of the B.Tech program.

VITEEE Vellore Cutoff 2020:

  • Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2020 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • VIT University uses an equating methodology for calculating candidate’s marks.
    • Equating Method: Equating is used to adjust scores of candidates who have taken different forms of a test, in order to facilitate meaningful and fair comparison for the merit list and ranking of candidates.
  • VIT Vellore uses the statistical procedure of Equip percentile Equating for identifying the percentile ranks for candidates, such that scores on different forms with the same percentile rank are considered to be equivalent.
  • A percentile Rank, say 90 Percentile Rank denotes that there is 90 percent of test-takers who have scored below this score level and 10 percent above the test score.
  • Candidates who score 118 and above marks may fall between the 1-250 rank range.
  • Candidates with less than 31 marks will have an expected rank of 20,000 or below.
