Placements and Internships
3 Internships are mandatory. One is given by the university. Companies like Microsoft L&T informatics, Shell come for placement. Average package is of 6 lacks. Alumni Network is good.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
There is a 9 km route especially going for the university, and in there are hundreds of hostels variable fees, near about 1 lakh per annum. There are many PG's in there with again at variable prices near about 10,000 per month. Food in college is of A1 quality, there is also Food Court and Nescafe in there available at affordable prices. Quality of Classrooms, Labs, Libraries and dining halls are also very good. The whole campus is fully wifi enabled, it has the only central library in Uttrakhand, Labs are fully functional with a facility of e-labs.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
Eligibility Criteria - minimum 60% in pcm if you are taking admission through UPESEAT(entrance test). If you are taking admission through board merit then it's criteria is 80%. It can also be done by jee merit. The entrance exam is UPESEAT and JEE main. Cutoffs are decided in real time., At the campus.
Academics and Faculty
It's a full day college.Timetables, attendance details and all the works including course plans and assignments are available online. There are some online subjects also. Quality and method of teaching are excellent. As it is an international university hence it provides all sorts of academic support to students. The overall experience of mine in mine college till date was excellent.
Fees and Scholarships
In mine course, the fees for four years is about 16 lacks or about 4 lacks per year. Scholarship options are also open if your board marks are greater than 85% then there is the scholarship waiting for you. The average number of students who get the scholarship is very high near about 3500. Yes if you didn't cross the scholarship criteria then loans could be needed.
Clubs and Associations
There are various types of student chapters, organizing various types of events inside and outside the campus. There is fest called Urjja and various student chapters also organize their fests in college. Sports events like the interest of cricket, volleyball, badminton, basketball and many more. Life at UPES is very exciting and fascinating.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for UPES is minimum 60% marks in CBSE boards. Also, admission is taken through UPESEAT exam too. I took the UPESEAT exam to get into the University. For my course cutoff is approx 9000 rank. This is because the University is having domain specific computer science branches due to which seats get increased.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : Through entrance exam or board merit/JEE Main scores. 80% of the seats are reserved for those who are allotted on the basis of entrance examination and the remaining 20% will be through board merit or JEE Main scores. The eligibility criteria of UPESEAT 2018 should be checked by the candidates before filling the application form. The candidates should have secured at least 60% marks at Higher and Senior Secondary Level (10th and 12th). Should have scored minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th). Non-Exam Pathway (up to 20% Seat Distribution) Board Merit: The candidates should have secured minimum 80% marks in 10th and 80% in 12th standard (or equivalent examination) in PCM. An aggregate to 80% should also have scored in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Senior Secondary Level (12th standard).
