Placements and Internships

4

Placements in computer science are quite well and the highest one can go up to INR 20 to INR 25 lakhs per annum. The University also provides internships to third-year undergraduate students as well. Key companies include Reliance, Schlumberger, Microsoft, TCS and many more. The average salary is about INR 4 to INR 5 lakhs per annum and the highest can go up to INR 25 lakhs per annum. Also, almost 99%of the batches get placed. The alumni network is very well in the campus and students often get to know about the success stories of successful alumni from the University.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 5 campus hostels and others are private hostels outside the campus. The hostel fee for a year is nearly INR 1,50,000 for an academic session for double sharing rooms. The PGs outside the University is also a good option as they are in the middle of the Bidholi village.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria for UPES is minimum 60% marks in CBSE boards. Also, admission is taken through UPESEAT exam too. I took the UPESEAT exam to get into the University. For my course cutoff is approx 9000 rank. This is because the University is having domain specific computer science branches due to which seats get increased.

Academics and Faculty

4

The daily routine for first-year students is packed from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. which also consists of breaks. It isn't necessary that every branch will have a huge amount of classes, but yeah it depends on a number of subjects of any particular branch. There is quite a fluency in the method of teaching. There are tutorial classes for the PCM subjects in which students practice numerical problems.

Fees and Scholarships

2.5

The course fee per year is almost INR 2.5 lakh. The scholarship options available to students are that their CBSE boards percentage should be above 90% so that there is a hope of getting a scholarship. Moreover, the scholarships are divided branch wise and the students can change the branch too if they need a scholarship. On an average, 1 out of 20 students in the University gets a scholarship. The University also promotes the education of underprivileged students and provides scholarships to them. The need of loan depends on the student's family.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

There are a lot of them to join and learn from them. Uurja and Ignite are the two main college fests. Apart from them there are also many events hosted by clubs and societies from time to time. The college life in general is very good. There is 0% ragging in the University which is itself a record.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Through entrance exam or board merit/JEE Main scores. 80% of the seats are reserved for those who are allotted on the basis of entrance examination and the remaining 20% will be through board merit or JEE Main scores. The eligibility criteria of UPESEAT 2018 should be checked by the candidates before filling the application form. The candidates should have secured at least 60% marks at Higher and Senior Secondary Level (10th and 12th). Should have scored minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th). Non-Exam Pathway (up to 20% Seat Distribution) Board Merit: The candidates should have secured minimum 80% marks in 10th and 80% in 12th standard (or equivalent examination) in PCM.
