There are mainly 3 campuses of this university. I'll limit my answer to the campus where I'm studying. This campus has only 1 boys hostel and no hostel for girls. But there are around 5-6 PGs and hostels in an area of 2 kms around the campus where girls can stay. The place where i stay costs me 11000 INR a month inclusive of 4 meals a day. The college has ICH, CCD, Pitstop and Nandini as its food centres which have really delicious and cheap food for the students. The classrooms are very big in order to occupy a large number of students. Each class has one black board, one white board and one notice board. For every department, there are various labs like Psychology Lab, Mathematics Lab, English Lab etc. There are 2 computer labs and 1 library (which extends to 2 floors). In the middle of the campus, there is a Quadrangle where tables and chairs and benches are placed for students to sit and gossip or work for their assignments together and a badminton court with benches as well. Wi-Fi is available to the students for free everywhere inside the campus.
The daily routine can appear to be a little hectic in the beginning but slowly, one gets used to it. The classes go on from 8:30 to 3:30 (Monday to Friday) and 8:30 to 12:30 (Saturday). Lunch break is from 12:30 to 1:30. The University follows a very different examination pattern which I think, is unique and specific to this University only in India. There is 70-30 system where 70 marks are for the Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) taking place 3 times per semester. CIA 1 and CIA 3 are of 20 marks each and consist of individual and group assignments. CIA 2 is the Mid-semester Exam which is of 25 marks. 5 marks are awarded for good attendance. The End-semester Exam is only 30 marks of the total. Both the Mid-semester and the End-semester are of 50 marks (2 hours written exam) which are later reduced to 25 and 30 marks respectively. This allows the student to be less burdened on academics and participate in the co-curricular happening around in the college at almost all times of the year. This examination pattern mainly aims at the overall development of the students and not just the academic part of it. It is compulsory to maintain the minimum of 85% of attendance per semester, less than which one is not allowed to sit in the end-semester exam and has to repeat the semester. The faculty for each department is well-versed and thorough with their respective subjects and very easily and successfully deliver the content to the students. Different teaching methods are opted by them such as using the projector for presentations and videos, class discussions, class quiz etc. My overall experience so far has been very smooth. The dress code or strictness in terms of attendance might appear to be a little disturbing at the start but slowly one realizes, it is all for good. The fests, competitions, workshops, clubs and open electives apart from academics are all so involving and skill enhancing that one gets to learn a lot from them.
There are Student Societies like Centre for Social Activities (CSA), Student Welfare Organisation (SWO) etc. working towards managing and regulating activities going around in the college. The CSA has a department which goes out to teach poor children for free. The main festivals and events in college include Darpan, Genesis, Aroha etc. Some of these involve all the three campuses whereas others are unique to this campus only. For sports, there is an annual sports meet which goes on for about a month. Life in college is very cool and easy-going. One gets to participate in so many events and activities that keeps one engaged all the time. Less burden of theoretical education adds to increased participation. The seniors and the staff are also very helpful and approachable and add to making lives easier.
