Placements and Internships

Placement options are provided by the University for outgoing students. Many well-known companies such as Accenture, HCL, Infosys, Wipro, Goldman Sachs offer placements for students in Finance, Marketing, and HR roles. Over 50 companies offer placement support.

The placement cell of the university is very active in recruiting. However, placements are more for commerce and management studies over arts and science streams. Average salary figures fall between 2.5 lpa to 4.5 lpa. The Alumni network is very strong with further job offers posted.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities are provided by the college inside the campus itself. The average fee per month is 6000 rupees. The hostels are good with spacious and clean rooms. They cleaned on a routine and maintained well. Hostels at university don't provide food as students from different countries reside in the hostels. There are a lot of pgs and hostels in and around the university which provides room at the same price.

The food in college has almost all cuisines and varieties catering to students from different backgrounds. There are plenty of options. It costs around 50rs per meal. The quality of classrooms is good with Wi-Fi. The labs and libraries also provide a productive atmosphere for students to engage in. The ground and auditoriums are huge.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria for admissions to UG programmes at CHRIST UNIVERSITY was a pass mark of 60% in the 12th board exams. The admission procedure included a Common Written Test, Essay Writing and Personal Interview. If passed, the admission, office contacts you for further procedure. The entrance exam I took was CUCET which is the Christ University Common Entrance Test.

Academics and Faculty

The class timings are from 9 am to 4 pm with a 1-hour break in between. The assessment pattern includes internal and written examination. There are three internals out of which one is the Mid Semester Examination of 50 marks. The other two internals can be assignments, group projects, presentations, group projects etc. Attendance also carries marks.

The method of teaching is quite good with qualified teachers. Materials are provided to support the learning. The overall experience in college is excellent with both academics and extracurricular activities. A lot of opportunities are given by the university to develop one's skills.

Fees and Scholarships

Christ University, Bangalore fee structure: the course fee of BA in Communication Media, English and Psychology (3 years) was around 80000/- per year. Scholarship options can be availed by the students each year if they have good marks. The average no. of students who get a scholarship is 3 per class of 70 students. Loans are not necessary for undergraduate courses.

Clubs and Associations

There are different clubs such as SWO, CSA for students to engage in. They encourage volunteering for activities inside and outside the college. The main festivals on campus are great with all sorts of entertainment such as DJ, dance, processions, music etc. College life, in general, is very vibrant and dynamic. You'll never get bored on campus.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission process for my course is through a written test and a personal interview. There is no mandatory entrance examinations were required for the course.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The course I opted for was a triple major in three respective subjects - Journalism, Psychology and English so that later I could pursue my Masters' in whichever direction suited my goals best. For entrance there was an interview in Kolkata where they asked me my interest towards the particular subjects concerned, and why I opted for Humanities when I was previously a Science student . They also wanted to know about whether I'd be comfortable migrating , and inquired me about my discplinary issues as well. There was no entrance examination, but the eligibility criteria required 70% in board exams of the 12th grade.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : You need to be a 12th standard pass to be eligible for this course, and your grades need to be above a minimum of 60% (at least that was the cut off in 2012). There is no test involved, but there is an interview conducted by the faculty of your potential course. The interview is fairly typical and centers around gauging your personality, though there are a couple, of course, related questions.
