John Institute of Technology is part of the T. John Group of Institutions. Since a humble beginning in 1993 the T. John Group has expanded to include new departments and blocks and spread over an area of 20 acres. TJIT was set up in the year 2006 to meet the rapidly growing need for IT Professionals in India and abroad. Starting with just two courses B.E. Computer Science Engineering and B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering, today the college has expanded into a full-fledged provider of technical education, offering B.E. degrees in six streams of engineering, as well as two post-graduate courses. The Department of Information Science Engineering and the Department of Telecommunication Engineering was established in the year 2007. In the same year the institute also started the Business Administration Department that offers the MBA program under VTU. In 2009 the first batch of Mechanical Engineering students joined the institute to pursue B.E. in Mechanical Engineering under the newly established Department of Mechanical Engineering. Continuing its exponential growth in 2010, TJIT started the MCA program under VTU.

T John Institute of Technology admission offers UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses in the field of Engineering. T John Institute of Technology is located in Bangalore. T John Institute of Technology offers a full-time B.E course of 4 years duration to the applicants with 5 specializations. Lateral Entry is also offered to the aspirants. The college offers a full-time B.E course of 4 years duration to the applicants with 5 specializations. Lateral Entry is also offered to the aspirants. The college offers the B.E program in five specializations. Admission to B.E is done based on the KCET and COMEDK UGET entrance examination. The college also offers direct admission to B.E. Second Year. Minimum eligibility is Diploma or equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% marks. The fee structure for the B.E course is INR 1,25,000 per annum.

  • The candidate should have passed in 10+2/ PUC/ 12th examination with a minimum of 45% of marks (40% for SC/ ST/ OBC applicants of Karnataka) in physics, maths, biology, biotechnology, chemistry, computer science, or electronics irrespective of marks secured in PCM subjects in the competitive entrance test
  • The selection of the candidates is done based on their merit in CET (only for Karnataka students), COMEDK/ AIEEE/ JEE Entrance examination is compulsory for all the students
  • Candidates who hold a Diploma in Engineering or equivalent with minimum 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ ST/ OBC) can apply for direct admission

The college presently offers a few doctorate courses. The college offers a Ph.D. in various specializations. The candidates should have passed Master’s degree. Candidates who successfully submit the application form will be called to appear in the entrance test conducted by VTU on a specified date.

T John Institute of Technology Ph.D Admission - Eligibility, Fees, Admission Criteria

For admission to doctorate programs candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements as prescribed by the College. All admissions are made strictly following the college rules in force at the time of admission. If students clear this test, they have to go to the college and pay fees of INR 20,000/- (For external candidates) and INR 15,000/- (For internal candidates).

The Candidates must possess Masters Degree recognized from the University, with a minimum CGPA OF 6.75 out of 10 or 60% aggregate marks at the Master’s Degree

Interested candidates can apply online for B.E and Ph.D. courses. Furthermore, in the case of the Ph.D., students can also apply in offline mode. The application process for both modes is prescribed below:

Online Mode

  1. Candidates are required to visit the official website of the college and click on the “Apply Online” link.
  2. The online application will require them to fill their details such as name and mobile number.
  3. As soon as the student fills the above details, the screen will display a page asking for more information.
  4. Now candidates have to fill personal, communication, and education details and enter the captcha.
  5. Once the entire form is filled, they need to click on the “Submit” button.
  6. Candidates will then be called or mailed, giving instructions on the further steps to apply for the courses, submit their documents, and also to submit the fees.

Offline Mode (Applicable for Ph.D)

  1. Candidates need to first download the application form from the official website of VTU.
  2. They should then meet with the concerned HOD in the college’s campus to discuss the topics which they would prefer to opt for their study.
  3. They are then advised to pay a fee of INR 5,000/- towards counseling fees, seat reservations, and application fees.
  4. After paying, they need to submit the filled application form along with the receipt of INR 5,000/-.
  5. The candidates are also informed that they will be receiving back the same application form with the signatures and seal of the concerned HOD and Principal.
  6. Lastly, candidates have to submit this application form in VTU, Belgaum personally.
