John Institute of Technology is part of the T. John Group of Institutions. TJIT was set up in the year 2006 and spread over an area of 20 acres. Starting with just two courses B.E. Computer Science Engineering and B.E. Electronics and Communication Engineering, today the college has expanded into a full-fledged provider of technical education, offering B.E. degrees in five streams of engineering, as well as Ph.D. degrees in six specializations.
The department of Information Science and Engineering was established in the year 2007. It offers B.E. in Information Science under VTU. Every year the department has an intake of 60 students for the B.E. in Information Science Engineering program.

The fee is as per college terms. Around 10 students get the scholarship.
Fee for KCET students is above INR 70000/- per year for 1st year and from 2nd year its INR 60000/-. For management students in 1st year the fee is 1.50 lakhs per year and from 2nd year its 1.25 lakhs per year. Scholarships are given to all of the students who applied. Management students cant apply for it. If the student is not able to pay the fees, study loans are also given. All bank provides loan for students if they have correct documents.
