Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) was founded in the year 1951. It was conferred with autonomous status in the year 1988-89 for their PG course MA (Economics) and on all the UG courses. In 2019 it was reaccredited with 'A+' Grade by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.31 out of 4. It was ranked 95th best college in India by the Government of India. The institution is affiliated with Thiruvalluvar University. In 2008 the institution introduced the 'Choice Based Credit System'. The institution is accredited by NAAC, recognised by Govt. of Tamil Nadu.

The institute is affiliated to the Thiruvalluvar University and is a Christian Minority institution established and administered by the Salisians of Don Bosco (SDB). committed to academic excellence, relevant research, promoting entrepreneurship and healthy extra curricular practices, Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur [SHCTPT] offers courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate levels and also offers research opportunities in a range of streams including Humanities (Arts and Social Sciences), Science, Commerce, Management and technical courses. The college also offers vocation-oriented Post Graduate Diploma [PGD]

SHCTPT UG Admission 2024

The college offers courses such as BA, B.Com, BBA, B.Sc and BCA at the undergraduate level. They are 3 year degrees. Admission to the courses is through merit. There are a total of 10 specialization subjects offered under different degrees, their availability however, depends on whether the course applied for is Aided or Self-financed. Extensions of the undergraduate course are offered at the postgraduate level, such as MA, M.Com, M.S.W, M.Sc, M.C.A and M.B.A. Masters courses are for a duration of 2 years. Subjects available for specialization again, depend on whether the course opted for is Aided or Self-financed. In addition to the regular master’s programme, students can also opt for the Post Graduate Diploma [PGD]. PGDs are vocation oriented courses. Details of the specialization in each are given below-

Admission to the PG courses is based on Merit in undergraduation and performance in the entrance examination. Criteria for eligibility are as follows-

SHCTPT M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2024

The M.Phil degree is a 1-year programme, and Ph.D is for a duration of 3-4 years depending on the research subject. These two degrees can be opted for on a Full-time or Part-Time mode of study.

Admission to the research-based courses are based on merit, research proposals and performance in the entrance examination. Eligibility criteria are as follows-

• On the  SHCTPT Admissions Page click on the Online Admission Link to initiate registration and application process.
• Fill in all necessary details such as Personal information, Contact details, Previous Education Details, etc. Attach copies of all necessary documents and proofs ready.
• Candidates can return to the Admissions Page to edit/review their application, check the status of their application, pay fees and print the application/payment receipt.
• Candidates must note down the Application No. for future reference, and payment of Application Fee.
• Application Fee can be paid online by clicking the Online Payment link on the Admission Page. it can be paid through Credit card/Debit card/Net banking. Such candidates need not submit physical copies of the Application.
• Candidates can also print admission forms, and send it along with attested copies of all documents required and DD for the admission fee, to the Principal, SHCTPT.
