Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) conducts an entrance examination of its own widely known as the 'MUOET'. The entrance is a straightforward examination with fundamental questions from all the 3 subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) and gives a substantial weightage to the English section. The test is conducted at certain city centers throughout the country in a timed online format. Among other mainstream exams like JEE and BITS entrances, MUOET is definitely an easier approach towards engineering if you're more aware of your scientific grassroots.
A typical cut off would for the most sought after technical branch, i.e. Computer Science Engineering, would be 130/200. Manipal Entrance does not provide any reservations of any kind therefore one doesn't need to worry about being sidelined by the different quotas found in the rest of the educational institutes in India.

The eligibility criteria for me when i had applied for Manipal University in 2016 was a minimum of 60% in my 11th and 12th. The admission procedure involved applying online for the entrance test (MUOET) by filling the application form and paying a certain amount of money (about 1000 rupees).
I only took the MUOET and it was for 200 marks at that time with no negative marking and the test was for 3 hours.
There were no cutoffs as such, but you needed a good rank to get a good branch choice in the college, so i would say get around 100+ and it should be fine. I got 113 and my rank was 10,000, so the competition is pretty tough.

MIT has a separate entrance exam which follows similar question pattern as JEE Mains with a total of 200 question to be solved in 2 hours. The diffiulty level of these questions is below JEE Mains and covers basics of all subjects. One mark is rewarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking. The typical Cutoff for IT is around 150 marks. While the questions arent very difficult it is a race against time to solve as many questions correctly within the time limit.

The eligibility criteria are the student should have passed his 12th board with 75% aggregate. They should take Manipal University online entrance test which is an online exam. Based on the score of MUOET the ranks will be displayed on the result day. On the day of counselling, the rank cutoff for the branches will be declared. Based on our choices we choose any course and pay the fees.
