  • The class timings in Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management are from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm.
  • Semester exams are held in Dec and May.
  • The quality of teaching is fair enough.
  • The experience of teachers is great asset of IISWBM.
  • Overall the experience of this college is marvelous.
  • There are Events committee, alumni committee and placement committee in Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management.
  • The clubs in college like Marketing club, finance club, sports club, hr club, brochure club and photography clubs are also there.
  • The eventful year starts with freshers and ends with a farewell.

  • The college starts from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. 
  • The teaching method is traditional but effective.Teachers engage well with you and make you understand the concepts very well.
  • Overall experience is good and well.
  • It's the best colllege ever.
  • There are various clubs in the campus like Photography club,Dance club,Music club,Performing arts club,Ngo club,Literary club,Language club,Culinary club,Robotics club,Science club.
  • Each festival is celebrated very joyfully. 
  • Life is very nice here.

Post Graduate Programme in Management [PGPM], batch of 2017
  • Classes start from 10.30a.m and end at 5.45p.m, we have a four periods with an inetrval of 15 min and a recess break of 45 min.
  • Quality of teaching is good, faculties teach us through slides as well as gives running notes so we dont always have to buy text books always.
  • Overall Experience is good.

We have the following clubs:

Finvestec, the finance club; Verkoop, the marketing club;Abhisaran, the hr club;Ecell, the club that encourage all kind of entrepreneurial activities. The Ecell of our college is associated with National Entrepreneurship Network(NEN). Resonance- a photographic society of our college,

We also have different committees like Visargah-the posters and brochures committee;Alcomm-Committee dealing with all kinds of Alumni networking;Events Committee-they are responisble for carrying out the events;Sports com-they are responisble for organizin different sporting events and tournaments both intra as well as inter college tournaments.

The main festivals of our colleges are:

Umeed,kreeda,paradigm,navikaran,guru-kshetra,entreprerna etc.

About Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management, [IISWBM] Kolkata

IISWBM was constituted on 25th April 1953 by a resolution passed by the Senate of the University of Calcutta. This was the culmination of the joint initiative taken by the University of Calcutta, the Government of West Bengal, the Government of India and the captains of industry in India to set up for the first time a management education institute in India, a concept alien to many in the educational fraternity at that time. The Institute has successfully reached its Diamond Jubilee Year, signifying 60 years of eventful journey in management education in India since that day. IISWBM, the first management institute of India was thus established by Dr. B.C. Roy, the then Chief Minister of West Bengal as its Founder-President and Prof. D.K. Sanyal as the first Director. The Government of India, Department of Posts in recognition of 50 years of glorious existence of the first B-school in the country, released a Commemorative Postage Stamp on IISWBM, on 25th April 2004 in New Delhi.

Apart from its flagship programs MBA, MHRM, MPSM, PGDBM, the Institute also conducts full-time programs in Sports Management,Telecom Management and Retail Management. Most of these programs are affiliated with the University of Calcutta. IISWBM is known for introducing and successfully conducting socially relevant and innovative management programs. In its Diamond Jubilee year, IISWBM has joined hands with the largest media conglomerate in the East, ABP Pvt. Ltd., and one of the most diversified media groups in the country to offer Post Graduate Diploma Programs in Integrated Marketing Communication and in Television Management.The institute also offers specialized courses in Fire Management. The Institute takes pride in its faculty that consistently ranks highest amongst premier B-Schools in terms of their Intellectual Capital. The Faculty is dedicated to the development of its students and the Institute and regularly engages itself in research and consultancy work. Several faculty members have won several prestigious awards over the years.

IT Infrastructure 

The Institute is equipped with state of the art IT facilities. It has a large IT Laboratory (Business Intelligence Lab) with more than 50 work stations and modern Audio Video facilities. This Lab is used for students to learn various MIS and DSS tools on hands on mode. The Lab is also supported with statistical software like SPSS and Business Analytics Tools such as R, Rapid Miner, and Rattle etc.
