The Army Institute of Management, Kolkata (Earlier known as, National Institute of Management Calcutta) was founded on 28 July 1997 by the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), New Delhi. Located at Alipore, in the heart of the ‘City of Joy’ the institute has an eco-friendly campus. 

AIMK also holds NAAC (The National Assessment and Accreditation Council) Accreditation and it has Certification by ISO 9001: 2015. AIMK Admission includes two-year full-time residential MBA programme with 120 students per batch from which 80% (96) seats are for Army wards and 20% (24) seats are for General category.

The 2-year MBA Programme of the institute is designed to equip students for a business world that is advanced, increasingly complex, and interconnected. The Institute considers that employers look for professionals who have the increasingly high level of creativity, skills and a capacity for life-long learning. The MBA Programme at AIMK strives to produce skilled professionals and pioneers.

The MBA programme has approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliation from the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University (earlier known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT)).

The summer internship is a compulsory and an integral part of the MBA Curriculum. All the students have to undergo 4 weeks summer internship during June – July after completion of first two semesters. The batch capacity of the course is 120. • The AIMK Placement cell assures logistic support to the visiting companies at every stage of the placement process by making world-class infrastructure available to them.

Army Institute of Management [AIMK], Kolkata Admissions :

• Candidates desirous of seeking admission to AIM, Kolkata can obtain the Application Form for MBA programme either from the AIM, Kolkata website or from the Admission Office, AIM, Kolkata by hand.
• Candidates who are willing to take the application forms from the Admission Office, need to pay Rs 500/- for Army wards and Rs 600/- for General category in cash.
• A demand draft for Rs 500/- for Army wards and Rs 600/- for General category, in favor of 'Director AIM' payable at Kolkata, will be deposited by the applicants who are submitting the application form, downloaded from the website.
