Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management was established in the year 1953. It was established by a resolution passed by the Senate of the University of Calcutta. It was a joint initiative taken by the University of Calcutta, Government of West Bengal, and the Government of India. The institution finished 60 years of providing management education in India in the year 2013. Admission to M.Phil and MSW is based upon the Written Test. Applicants can secure admission in MBA (Day) through CAT score and MBA (Evening) through MAT/ CMAT/ JEMAT score. The institute grants admission in MBA-PS based on CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ JEMAT/ GATE/ ATMA score. Admission to MRM depends upon the CAT/ MAT score. Candidates can obtain admission in PGDM-Sports Management through Written Test. Candidates who have passed a Master’s degree in Management, Commerce or Social Welfare and any other related discipline from Calcutta University with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (SC/ ST with 50% marks) OR with 60% aggregate marks from any other recognized University are eligible to apply for M.Phil course. The institute shortlists students depending upon their performance in the Written Test. Those who obtain a valid score in the test have to be present for the PI round. The final selection is based upon the performance in the Written Test and PI. Candidates who get selected will have their names on the list. Candidates who have qualified NET/ SET or equivalent national level examination will be exempted from the Written Test and will be called for an interview round directly. The admission fee for M.Phil is INR 8,000.
Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), Kolkata, has been conducting the 2-year full-time AICTE Accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Management Course since 1993, which is now upgraded to a Master Degree program (Being renamed as MBA-PS) offered by the Calcutta University from 2009. Now, to cater to the need amongst the working executives particularly in the energy-intensive industries, i.e. almost all the process industries, manufacturing as well as the transport sector, the institute is organizing a 2 Weeks (Full Time) Certificate Programme viz. Short Term Course (STC) in Energy Management and Audit. So far, thirteen STCs have been successfully conducted. The standard module has 80 contact hours. However, the course is also customized depending on the need from the floor, and accordingly, one-week, two-weeks, and one-month modules are also made available.
IISWBM admission for the year 2021 is based on the test scores the candidates will be selected for the next round of interview. Once the admission process is open candidates need to apply online or offline with all relevant details as mentioned in the application form along with the application money. The shortlisted candidate will be called for an interview & the final selection will be done based on the interview performance. Also, the admission fee for various courses will be based on IISWBM fee structure.
