The College of Engineering Trivandrum was established in 1939, but when the administration came under the control of Government of Kerala it moved to a sprawling 125 acres campus in 1960. It is one of the best-known and most sought-after engineering colleges in the state.

The College of Engineering Trivandrum Admissions is for the undergraduate, postgraduate, and research courses. The college was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation [NBA] and approved by the All India Council of Technical Education [AICTE].

According to a study sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, the College of Engineering, Trivandrum was among the Top Ten Engineering Colleges in India. Now it ranks among the top in the country in the quality of its graduates and the number of top jobs they get. 

Moreover, the Kerala Government has sanctioned a new satellite project in association with ISRO through this Institute. This project aims to design, fabricate and launch a nano-satellite, in association with ISRO and CET Centre for Interdisciplinary Research [CCIR].

  • Central computing facility is comprised of 3 labs, namely the Central Computing Facility Lab, Centre for Training in Software Engineering Lab, and the Sree Chithirathirunaal Centre for Computing Lab.
  • There is a server room and 10 high-end server noded which is shared among the all the department and administrative office.
  • The TREST Research Park, assists companies with a research focus to set up a base in the park, where the Corporate R&D, the faculty and students of CET work together.
  • The College also has a Centre of Excellence in Fluid Dynamics and the Transportation and Research Engineering Centre present on campus.
  • The Centre for Continuing Education helps in conducting courses, training programs, and workshops.
  • The Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Unit looks after all refrigeration related issues on campus, giving students hands-on experience.
  • The Technical Library has a vast collection of print and e-resources for the students to use.

The college has a highly trained and experienced workforce. The teaching staff are well-qualified. Many of them have field experience and can impart the kind of wisdom a future engineer needs. The lab staff also greatly assist the students in their education. The college unfailingly emerges at the top in terms of pass percentage as well as university toppers. 


CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

The atmosphere is conducive to various extracurricular activities, be it with IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering) or environment club or Entrepreneurship Development Cell. The staff and students of Civil Engineering Department actively participate in the ICI(Indian Concrete Institute) CET activities. The college also has an active alumni association called CETAA(college of engineering Trivandrum alumni association). The cultural and technical fests present students with opportunities to showcase and hone their diverse skills.

  • Class timings from 9 am to 4pm.
  • The Quality of teaching is good but whole academic portion is not covered by teachers. The students learn the rest of the topics in discussions and combined studies. Thus there is chance for great learning as well as teaching experience.
  • Overall experience is great.

For pg students its like a school. The same class timing at 9.00 AM, projects, exams, assignments, site visits etc. Good teaching and guidance. Now, 6months experiences only.

Pg students are not involving these kinds of activities. The main festival is Dhwani. In generally college life is great.
