ACADEMICS & FACULTY
  • Classes starts at 10:00 am and continues to 4:40 pm- 5:30 pm.
  • Teachers are strict and you have to  submit projects for every lab classes and almost 5 assignments in every weeks.
  • Exams will be in two phases. 1. midterm and 2. semester
  • There are two semesters in a year and the method of teaching is mainly theoritical and practicals, somtimes audio-visual.
  • You have to study hard for good results.
  • The overall experience at UIT is quite good.

CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS
  • There are a few clubs at UIT like literary club, cultural club, photography club etc.
  • There is no student council at UIT.
  • Tech fest, Cultural fest(social), Teachers day, Saraswati pooja and other different occasions are held in our college.
  • The life in college is above average.

  • Daily routine is packed. we have much classes and some times extra class are also taken. assignments are provided, but the project work is not encouraged and midsems and sems conducted.
  • The quality and method of teaching varies from one teacher to other, most of them are dedicated. Our college lacks proper infrastructure and no other extra curricular activities takes place.

Classes usually start from 10 am and last till 5:30 pm. The teachers were not good at all. VThe college infrastructure was average. Some Teachers are friendly and cheerful.

There was no such association but students used to gather for occasions, mainly cultural technical fest, and many more.

The class timing is from 10 am to 5 pm. Saturday and Sunday is off. The teachers are also good and friendly.

About University Institute of Technology, [UIT] Bardhaman

Burdwan University Executive Council resolved on June 11, 1999 to set up an engineering institute at the University Campus under the direct control and management of the University of Burdwan – named ‘ University Institute of Technology (UTI)’. On September 16, 1999 Burdwan University Court approved the resolution. As per provisions of the Burdwan University Act under Section 2 Sub-sections 16 and 17 the institute enjoys the status of a Professional College run and managed by the University. The Institute was established in the year 2000. With the approval of Govt of West Bengal and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Institute has been running Bachelor of Engineering courses in six disciplines.

The institute is accredited by TCS and has an academic alliance with IBM, Oracle Corporation and Microsoft Corporation, etc. The National Board for Accreditation (NBA) of AICTE has accredited the Dept. of (1) Electronics & Communication Engg (ECE) and (2) Computer Science & Engg (CSE) for three years effective from 16th April, 2009. Application for re-accreditation and new accreditation for two more new eligible subjects, IT and AEIE will be made by end July 2013.

The Institute accorded the approval of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) – Phase-II and fund was received from MHRD and State Govt. on 19th July, 2013.

Facilities

Hostel Facility

There are four Boys’ Hostels named ‘Banabas Hostel’, ‘Banabas Hostel (new), ‘Professor Satyendra Nath Bose Boys’ Hostel’ & ‘201 Seated (new) Boys’ Hostel’. Upto 80% of the boys are allotted in the hostels seats. There is a Girls’ Hostel named ‘Madam Curie Girls’ Hostel’. 100% of the girls (except local girls) are allotted in the hostel as per AICTE rules. All the hostels have common rooms with Cable TV and indoor games facilities and internet facilities. Monthly seat rent of Rs.600.00 p.m. is charg


Training & Placement Cell

It is becoming increasingly difficult for the institute authority to arrange for vocational training for all the students free of cost. The students are encouraged to arrange vocational training for themselves by their own efforts. They should also be prepared to pay the requisite training fee/ charges demanded by different organizations for training for training to be arranged by the institute authority.
