The Career Guidance and Placement Unit (CGPU) of the college is actively organizing many events for the students to get placements in reputed organizations. There are good track records regarding campus placements in the previous years. Organizations like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, VSNL, HCL, DELL, IBS, Larson and Tubro, Greaves Cotton, Anglo-Eastern Ship Management, Computer Science Corporation, Informatica, Nest, US Technology etc have come to our campus for recruiting students. The organizations specify the academic requirements, and only those candidates having such eligibility will be considered for the selection process. The students are informed about the recruitment programs, and if necessary special coaching programs will be arranged for them to get through the selection process. Trainings on soft skills, group discussions, how to face interview etc. are being conducted on regular basis. Library Each of our department has its own internal departmental technical library of more than 10,000 books and periodicals. It would cater the need of the students and faculty of each department. In addition to it we have the College Technical Library. With a large collection of books, periodicals and reports, the library serves the needs of the staff and students of this College as a whole. Fee Waiver Scheme AICTE has introduced Fee Waiver Scheme in the institutions approved by it. Under the scheme, the Competent Authority for admissions shall be the same as for regular admissions. And Institutions shall provide tuition fee waiver up to 10 percent of its sanctioned intake of students. Typically for every 60 sanctioned intake in a branch/discipline of study, tuition fee waiver shall be given to two woman candidates, three economically weaker students (Annual income of Parents/Guardians less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs from all sources) and one physically handicapped students based on merit. In the event of non-availability of students in a specific category as above, the benefit will be given to any other candidate of other categories according to merit. Government of Kerala has issued orders to implement the Scheme. Commissioner for Entrance Examinations is the allotting authority for all the 100% seats based on the merits of the Entrance Examination. College has many technical societies like ISTE, IEEE, ASME, IEDC, IEEE computer society, IEEE robotics, and automation society, IEEE women in engineering, etc .and non technical societies like NSS (national service scheme),( silver screen) film club,photography club etc our college Government Engineering College Barton hill Trivandrum is listed the cultural fest and technical fests. Aagneya our art and cultural fest, which is the main festival on campus. 42 South India's first ever flagship event, a technical fest in collaboration with technical societies like ISTE, IEEE, ASME, etc. My overall experience in college is one word amazing.GECB is the best engineering college in Kerala.

Internships are not necessary for the curriculum according to the University. But students do take internships in various fields like thermal and hydropower plants, steel manufacturing plants, nuclear power plants etc. The institution has a great placement record. Almost all the students get placed. More than 50% of the placement occurs in the IT sector. The highest salary offered was INR 16 lakhs per annum.
Clubs & AssociationsA lot of technical students societies are there in the campus. IEEE is the major one and receives accolades every year for the performance. We were awarded outstanding student branch for the year 2017. The other societies include women in engineering, Robotic and Automation society, Power and Energy management society, Computer Engineers society, Indian society for technical society etc.

I haven’t done any internship yet. Many prenominate companies recruit the students from our college. Our college does have a good network of alumni.
Fees and ScholarshipThe fee per annum is INR 8225. A lot of scholarships available for all the students in different fields and these are properly informed to the students by the college authorities and these are also properly utilised by the students. The loan is not required.
