Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University [ANGRAU], Hyderabad was established in the year 1964. Since its inception, this university has been working to train the manpower in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Technology, and Home Science. The university also assists in the dissemination of the improved technologies to the farmers of the state through development departments of Government. It aspires to promote the transfer of technology through education and research.

The NG Ranga University offers various Under Graduate, Postgraduate, Doctoral and Polytechnic programs in the field of Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering & Technology and Community Science at its constituent colleges in the State of Andhra Pradesh with HeadQuarters at Lam, Guntur. Acharya NG Ranga admission can be on the basis of counseling for Postgraduate and admissions for Doctoral will be based on an entrance test and interview by the Selection Committee.

This university is approved by the National Institutional Ranking Framework [NIRF]. Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University, Hyderabad also started its International Programme in 2005.
