Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

You should have at least 75 % marks in 12th board. You have to clear JEE mains first and then JEE advance. Your rank must be under all India 4000 for pursuing my branch. The cutoff for JEE main varies every year in the range of 85 to 105 marks out of 360 marks. The cutoff of JEE advanced is for every subject i.e physics, chemistry, mathematics which is 10 to 15% marks in every subject.

First of all, I wanna talk about the eligibility criteria for entering IIT Roorkee. The entrance test you have to give for taking admission in this college is JEE-advanced. I prepared JEE for two years and JEE is one of the hardest tests in India. I am from Metallurgy branch, so cutoff usually depends on criteria. And for general category, you must a score less than 6000 AIR(All India Rank) to get admission in IIT Roorkee Metallurgy branch.

IITs are absolutely the first choice of any engineering aspirant. I really feel it after taking admission into IIT Roorkee. Really, it posses great academic environment with a bunch of student studying around with their intelligent minds. Generally, professors are helpful and have a lot of knowledge. However, you can not except each professor to be so good. In some subjects, you may have to suffer but there are only 5% chances of such condition to prevail. In sports and cultural activities, the college performs very well in inter IIT and always remain in top-3. The sports infrastructure is world-class in almost every sport not only outdoor but indoor too. Last, not least, it one of the best places in India for being nurtured.

  • The eligibility criteria at Indian Institute of Technology should approximately be 80% in 12th exams.
  • Then, you should have cleared JEE-MAINS exam conducted by CBSE in the first week of April. Top 2 lakh students clearing JEE-MAINS will be allowed to sit for JEE-ADVANCE.
  • Finally, get a good rank in JEE-ADVANCE exam (You could write this exam twice i.e. during passing year in twelfth and next year too)
  • For example, you are passing twelfth in 2017, so you could attempt cracking JEE-ADVANCE in 2017 and 2018 conducted in the first week of June. In 2014, cut-off for CML -152, OBC(NCL)-117, SC-74, ST-63, PWD-63.

You must be 12th pass out, with JEE MAIN and JEE ADVANCED. I was really lucky that I managed to clear both Mains and advance in one go, that's how I became eligible to drop my name like you drop your check in check Dropbox in banks, with no idea what's finally going to happen. I don't have much idea about the cut offs.
