Sarmistha Gupta's Review on University of Calcutta, [UC] Kolkata

I did an Internship on Social Inclusion through Digital Inclusion from IIM C. Although this has been done by my own wish. The university didn't conduct so. The companies hire Accountants or Business Analysts and pay a minimum salary of INR 25k per month.

There are few hostels for the students. The PGs opposite to this place is somewhat rational. Whereas, some others are a bit expensive. The food quality needs to be improved. Although it is worth the price.

For getting admission in Calcutta University, you need to have First Class (60%) and above for direct admission. Although it depends on the cut off and the availability of the seats. Rest of the applicants have to undergo an entrance test, which on clarifying, they get selected for admission.

The class duration is of one-hour minimum. The exams are held yearly. Prior to which, an internal examination is conducted. The Quality of teaching is great since most of them are Doctorate. Thus overall experience is pretty good.

We have a monthly fee of INR 100. Hence INR 1200 a year. Thus no loans are required for such. Need based scholarships are available for students.

Life here at CU is fun with good people around. The teachers are so student friendly and caring.
