No, I have not done any internship as I am in the first year. We have placements from Cisco, Wipro, Infosys and many other major companies. More than 150 companies are there. Some students get a package of INR 3 lakh per annum as the lowest and some may get INR 10 lakh per annum. Mostly IT companies recruit the students from CSE group. Some people in VIT alumni are doing research in artificial intelligence and some are recruited in the Google and Microsoft as well.
There are separate hostels for both boys and girls. The college has over 15 hostel blocks. The hostels are very average and it is not worth the fee we give. Due to the large number of students in VIT, they have converted single bedroom to 2-bedroom, 2 bed to 3-bed and 4-bedroom to 6. The hostel fee is high. It's very difficult to get the room outside the college due to of high demand. The food in the college is very bad. The minimum cost of food is INR 47,000 per year for vegetarian. Classrooms are very hot and the labs are well equipped. WiFi speed is slow only 300 kbps on average. The library is excellent.
The admission process for the college is based on the VITEEE entrance exam. I have taken VITEEE exam to get the admission. I have taken Electronics and communications branch. For this course, you need to have a rank of less than 35,000 in VITEEE to get into any category. But a rank within 10,000 can give you a seat the in 1st category.
The daily routine is somewhat busy schedule. Time management is not good. Sometimes the students will have classes from evening 6 pm to 9 pm. It is a hectic schedule and somewhat difficult to adapt. Teaching quality is average like most of the engineering colleges in India. Most of the students do self-study. The teaching is also not good except some faculty. Overall experience from the college is good.
The course fee depends on the category in which the student is selected. It may range from INR 1.2 lakh to INR 4.9 lakh per year based. There are no scholarship options for the students in VIT. Some may get loans during admission time from the Indian bank. There will be some faculty from various banks who will give loans to students inside the campus during admission time. Mostly it's easier to get loans
