Placements and Internships

  • I did 3 internships mainly in 1st-year winter, 1st-year summer and 3rd-year winter. My internships were mostly into the business development areas of e-commerce, incubators, and NGO.
  • In Indian Institute of Technology, the students mostly got placed in consultancy, IT, Finance, manufacturing.
  • We have 95-100% placement with an average salary of Rs. 8-9 lakh per annum and the highest package is around Rs. 30 lakh pa.
  • We have very strong alumni network and they all are very well connected through the institute body named SARC.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • There are 16 hostels inside IITB. Hostels are facing many issues currently as they are very old now but they are under renovation.
  • Hostel including mess fee is Rs. 15000 pa.
  • The hostel is compulsory for every college student.
  • There is no PGs inside campus but there is a guest house at very affordable rate.
  • Food quality is decent in every mess. There is canteen facility for every hostel.
  • One day meal for one person will cost around Rs. 125 including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner.
  • The quality of classrooms, wifi, library and everything is best.
  • Free wifi is available in the whole campus.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Eligibility criteria for getting admission at Indian Institute of Technology was the candidate must pass a 12th standard examination with a minimum of 60 percentage.
  • I cleared JEE MAIN AND JEE ADVANCED to get admission in the college.
  • The typical cutoff for my branch in JEE MAIN is below 2000 AIR for open category and below 7000 AIR for OBC students.

Academics and Faculty

  • The class timings vary every year at Indian Institute of Technology.
  • Exams are planned very well and very efficiently.
  • Quality and method of teaching are excellent.
  • Living inside a college is fun.
  • Sports facilities, culture inside IITB is the best amongst all the other IITs.

Fees and Scholarships

  • Course fees per semester at Indian Institute of Technology is Rs. 75,000 including hostel, tuition, and mess.
  • There is one scholarship available for sc/st students.
  • 5 out of 100 students get this scholarship facility.
  • Yes, loans are very important and they can be availed from Canara or SBI bank.

 

Clubs and Associations

  • There are many clubs inside IITB. STAB is a technical body of which there are many small clubs like robotics club, web and coding club, aeronautics club, etc.
  • There are sports, Debating club, maths, and physics club, krittika for space exploration etc. There are around 25-30 clubs for various activities inside IITB.
  • TECHFEST and Mood Indigo are a technical and cultural festival of IITB and both are Asia's largest fests among their genres.
  • ABHYUDAY is the social fest.
  • The college life in IITB is the best.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : IIT Bombay gives admission only on merit. It has 50% reserved seats. Students should clear the minimum cutoff of JEE ADVANCED exam to enter IIT. The cutoff for my course went to around 1500 rank in general.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The students have to clear JEE MAIN and Advance for the admission at IIT. The cut-off for my course was air 1076 for the OBC category.

Clubs & Associations : The sports facilities in the campus are great with indoor basketball, volleyball and badminton courts, 6 lawn tennis courts and athletics, football and cricket grunds. For the cultural scene, the Students Activity Centre (SAC) houses the Open Air Theatre most famous for the concerts during Mood Indigo, IIT Bombay's cultural festival. College life in general is awesome.
