College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Overall SRM University is very well designed and maintained. Different blocks for a different degree are available.
- Air-conditioned classrooms with projector screens and wifi facility are there. Laboratories are designed to accommodate a large number of students.
- Separate Hostels for girls and boys are there. 5-6 blocks are available for each of them. 10 floors with three-sharing rooms are sufficient enough to house so many students.
- Attendance is conducted in hostel each evening at 7:30 pm.
- Food quality is nice.
- Hostel fees are approx Rs. 1 lakh (annually). It includes mess fees, laundry service, security and many other things.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- SRM JEEE was conducted as an entrance exam for students in XII for B.Tech in SRM University. Ranks secured were published. As per the availability of seats, students chose their streams/branches and campuses.
- An essay writing competition was also conducted all over India. 3 topics were given. The students in XII could write 700-1000 words long essay on any one topic of their own choice. 100 students were shortlisted in each category of topic for next Round of Interview. Finally, 3 candidates were selected after II round and were awarded full tuition fee waiver scholarship all throughout the undergraduate degree.
Academics and Faculty
- In SRM University classes scheduled from 8:00 am to 4:10 pm on five working days (Monday-Friday).
- At the time of enrollment, the student is allotted the subjects in his semester. Weekly time-table is very well designed for theory and lab classes (in different halves). 2-3 quizzes and assignments are allocated per subject with the progress in chapters.
- Two Cycle tests, one Model Exam and one External Examination is conducted each semester along with practicals.
- Teachers are highly experienced and professional.
- College offers Semester abroad programs.
Fees and Scholarships
- Annual tuition fee at SRM University is Rs. 2,15,000 (for the course I opted).
- Education loan is available to those in need. The banking details are given in the Counselling letter.
- Different scholarships are available in the college. Merit scholarships are offered to students securing top ranks and also those who get the minimum required CGPA.
- Special cum merit scholarships are given to those who excel in Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular activities.
- There's no limit to students availing the scholarship.
Clubs and Associations
- So many start-ups, clubs, societies, and associations are here in SRM University.
- Different project teams are present.
- National level fest are conducted twice or thrice in a year apart from different competitions and workshops.
- Organizing committees and Volunteers are formed out of students talented in different areas.
- Eminent personalities and renowned guests are always invited.
- In general, there's a lot of exposure and training apart from academics.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria is you should score a rank below 20,000 in the SRMJEE exam. The cutoff for my course is rank below 10,000 in SRMJEE.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : SRM Institute of Science and Technology is deemed to be a University which, has its own entrance exam - SRMJEEE, a computer-based examination for 125 marks in 2 hours and 30 minutes testing your physics, chemistry, math, English, and aptitude ( will have to appear for biology is your course requires) one who is desiring to join SRM should take up this exam and clear it, the rank obtained will decide your preference. Also, on cracking JEE Mains, you will be eligible for admissions in SRM. There are various campuses, and the eligibility criteria differ for each. In the Chennai campus for the B.tech course, a minimum of 50% aggregate marks is required in PCM subjects which also should be your core subjects. On fulfilling these criteria, you can secure your place in this college.
