Placements and Internships

3.5

  • The placements and training in college are good. My college has tie-ups with IBM and other companies which is very helpful for students.
  • The IBM-Centre for Excellence being in our college provides a platform to students to showcase their talent and get better opportunities in the corporate world.
  • I got an internship from INTERNSHALA website getting the role of HR-Manager Intern in Abhilash Consultancy Services which paid me a stipend of Rs. 2000-3000 per month along with a certificate.
  • I am still doing the internship.
  • The major key companies who visit our college are Deloitte, TCS, IBM, L&T Infotech, Ellucian, Trianz, Ericsson, SONY, Capgemini, SUBEX, Eurofins, HPe, Brigade is some from the list.
  • The placements of last year were terrific when TCS, our mass recruiter took 202 students with the salary figure of Rs 3.35 lakhs per annum.
  • Totally 600+ students got placed last year. This year placement is still going on with around 200 students placed till date.
  • The placements for Civil and Mechanical to get in their core companies are little difficult as very few core companies visit the campus.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

  • The College infrastructure is amazing.
  • We have well-furnished classrooms with a wifi-enabled campus.
  • The labs are equipped with proper instruments.
  • The canteen in the college has decent space for sitting and having food.
  • The food available is of decent price and wide varieties of foodstuff are available.
  • We have a separate hostel for boys and girls. An international hostel is also there for students who prefer single seater or double seater rooms.
  • The hostel fees including mess charges are around Rs. 1,00,000 for one year.
  • The mess food is not that good. The menu is decided by the students and non-veg is served twice in a week.
  • There is a well-equipped gymnasium and we have basketball courts, volleyball and throwball courts, a big field and table tennis tables at CMRIT.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • I gave the COMEDK UGET entrance examination in the month of May-2013 to join an engineering college in Karnataka.
  • The exam was conducted in Bengaluru and a lot of students wrote the exam.
  • The exam pattern was objective type questions and with no negative markings.
  • The eligibility criteria were having Physics, Chemistry and Maths in 12th standard. The exams questions were simple but little tricky.
  • Out of 180 questions, I answered around 168 questions as no negative marking were there.
  • The rest I wasn't able to do because of time constraints. Some of them were randomly answered. The cutoff generally varies depending on the toughness of the paper and the availability of seats in different college.
  • The better your rank, the better option for college and branch will be there for you. Along with COMEDK UGET, I gave the JEE MAIN and my state board exam.
  • I got 13760 rank in COMEDK and I selected CIVIL Engineering in CMRIT college.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • The college timings are hectic. It starts at morning 8'o clock while goes on till 4'o clock in the evening.
  • Somedays we have half days when college gets over around 1'o clock in the afternoon.
  • Three internal exams are conducted in one semester followed by lab internals before the university exams begin.
  • The Quality and method of teaching are Very good in CMRIT.
  • The professors are highly trained in their subjects and they impart quality education to the students.
  • The method of teaching is amazing. Faculties use audio-visual classes also for better understanding of concepts.
  • The labs are proper and well equipped with the proper requirements.
  • My overall experience studying in this college is awesome.
  • The college has given me opportunities to express myself and my talent, they have provided me with the platform to showcase them and I am happy with the teachings of the college.

Fees and Scholarships

4

  • I joined my course in 2013 August, so my fee is Rs. 1,00,000 as the course fee and Rs. 25,000 as the college fees.
  • Total Rs. 1,25,000 per annum. This is for the civil branch at CMRIT.
  • The other branches fees are Rs. 1,37,500 and Rs. 25,000 making it a total of Rs. 1,62,500.
  • These figures are for people coming by COMEDK.
  • For CET candidates, the fee is a way too less.
  • A lot of scholarship are there in the college. The CMR Memorial scholarship, the Excellent performer scholarship are few of them.
  • The college helps those students who are unable to pay fees by helping them financially by providing a scholarship.
  • It depends on how many students gets eligible for the scholarship.
  • Then the interview process happens from which the candidates are selected for it.
  • Few students do apply for the loans and it is easily provided by the banks like SBI, BOI, on proper verifications.

Clubs and Associations

5

  • We have many student societies and clubs in our college namely Art club, Tech club, Dance club, Music club, Theatre club, Literary club, Photography club, Kannada club and the Rotaract club.
  • The clubs are very active and participate in the different college fest. The theatre clubs have won many accolades.
  • There are many workshops by the tech club in association with IEEE student chapter of CMRIT.
  • Our main festival on campus is CULTURA which happens in the month of February every year.
  • Several other tech fests or organised department or branch wise which takes place during the year.
  • The life in college is fun and amazing.
  • I would love that my college life doesn't end because these days won't ever come back.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : CMRIT accepts all candidates who have written entrance exams such CET, COMEDK UGET, etc. The cutoff drops every year and is dependant on the demand for students taking up the course. During my admissions, the cutoff for COMEDK was 15000.
