Placements and Internships
- Not much companies are visiting our campus for internship.
- Good companies are visiting our campus each year & their number is increasing day by day , but in my preception pay scale is low as compared to other IIT's.
- Average Package is around Rs.8,00,000 per annum last year. 70 % people placed last year.
- Alumni network is very bad.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Hostels are mostly lush green but some are kind of dungeons. The restrooms are not very clean.
- Food quality is a little below average on campus and average off campus. Food is served in each hostel of IITR. IITR has eleven hostels and food quality is quite satisfactory in all the hostels. Housing facilities with internet is also quite good.
- The city is aliitle cut off from the metropolitian area and has commuting problems. Facilities provided in the campus are amazing. Internet at a very good speed is avalable in wifi and ethernet. The campus is almost a fully covered wifi zone but are not open everywhere. The problem is that these facilities are not maintained properly and a lot of time is spend on repair of the system.
Academics and Faculty
- Daily routine includes classes and tutorials of 6-7 hours.
- Quality of teaching is good. Faculty is sound and experienced. Courses are light including tests. But the projects are a bit extensive and require some serious efforts. The courses are extremely relevant and also the professors are quite good both in terms of teaching and accessibility.
Fees and Scholarships
- Affordable fees when compared to other colleges in same criteria.
- Scholarships for those with family income below Rs 4.5 laks and also meeting te condition of being in the top 20 percentage of the class strength.
- Easy Bank loan at low interest rate from SBI and Punjab National Bank Branches available within the Campus

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for this course was- One must have secured 75% marks in his 12th. 2. One must have cleared JEE MAIN with the minimum cutoff marks. The entrance exam that I took was JEE ADVANCED and the cutoff for my course was: 1. Under 449 air for general candidates. 2. Under 202 category rank for OBC- NCL. 3. Under 132 category rank for SC candidates. 4. Under 98 category rank for ST candidates.

Academics & Faculty : The daily routine is neither too hectic nor very easy. The lecture classes are usually in the hours before lunch and tutorials and lectures are after lunch. Some of the teachers in IIT Roorkee are very good and are very aware of their subjects while some maybe good in subjects are not so good in teaching. The overall experience is positive.
Academics & Faculty : Daily routine is hectic, yet, enjoyable. Most of the days, classes start by 9 AM. The maximum time classes can go upto is 6 PM with a lunch break from 1 PM to 2 PM. Teachers mostly teach using slides and classes are great learning places provided a student pays interest to what the teacher says. Summing up, so long and so forth, college has been too much fun.
