Placements and Internships
- Placements of VIT are well known nation wide and it even holds a Limca book record for mass placements. There are excellent on-campus placement opportunities for students of all branches, not only IT or CSE.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Infrastructure in VIT is commendable and is better than most other private and even government institutions.
- The rooms and mess food are quite decent. It is the only hostel in India which had AC rooms. We also have options for mess (south Indian/North Indian) and rooms (1,2,3,4,6 bed sharing).
- The rates of mess and rooms vary as per choice.
Academics and Faculty
- The Academic aspect of VIT is quite decent. We have ample infrastructure for classes as well as labs.
- The faculties are also good, but not as good as IITs or any other ranked Govt. colleges.
- VIT is the only college in India which uses the Fully Flexible Credit System in which students can select their courses as well as class timings.
- We also have Project Based Learning for all subjects.
Fees and Scholarships
- The fees for category 1 students is around INR 1.7 lakh per annum.
- The hostel and mess fees are different and depend on your choice.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria for getting admission in VIT University is passing the 12th in (PCMB/ PCM/ PCB) stream with a cutoff of 60% for every subject. Since its a deemed university, they have a separate entrance exam called VITEEE conducted usually in the month of April. The exam consists of math, physics, chemistry for all the other courses. For biomedical math is optional and biology is compulsory.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission procedure and eligibility criteria are that a candidate should have completed graduation in ECE/EE from any AICTU with first-class. There was a separate entrance exam for M.tech which you have to qualify. As per my knowledge is concerned scoring above 60% is a guarantee of a seat in M.Tech and after there will be counseling in which you can opt your course according to your choice and rank.

Academics & Faculty : The definite plus point is the wide variety of courses that are offered and the flexibility that students have in choosing what courses they want to do. I had the opportunity to do several amazing courses while satisfying my electives requirement. I can't speak for other departments but mine had professors who had excellent knowledge in their subjects and could articulate it very well to us. What was disappointing was the testing. I felt like the exams didn't give a window for the student to actually learn and apply his subject. While there are a few courses which have a project component included with them, students usually have to rely on themselves and take the initiative to do projects through non-academic means.
