College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • VIT University has a great infrastructure. It is a huge campus, beautifully set up.
  • It has a good hostel and mess facility. We get the option to select single, double. four- bedded or six bedded AC/ nonAC rooms based on preferences. This also includes WIFI  facility. Hostel rules and regulations can be strict.
  • PG's are available near the campus.
  • VIT has good classrooms and lab facility and library.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Eligibility criteria for getting admission in VIT University is passing the 12th in (PCMB/ PCM/ PCB) stream with a cutoff of 60% for every subject.
  • Since its a deemed university, they have a separate entrance exam called VITEEE conducted usually in the month of April.
  • The exam consists of math, physics, chemistry for all the other courses. For biomedical math is optional and biology is compulsory.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • VIT University follow FFCS system (Fully flexible credit system) in which students have the chance to select the faculties, timings and manage their timetable accordingly.
  • They have pretty good faculties.
  • Student life in VIT is really nice as it is not monotonous because of FFCS timetable. we get to meet many fellow students and faculties. I think there are many chances to develop on your extra curricular as well.

Fees and Scholarships

2.5

  • Under merit, My course fee is Rs. 2-3 lakhs per month at VIT University including hostel and mess charges. Fees might get increased every year.
  • Every year based on the CGPA the first 5-6 rank holders of every branch are given some scholarship.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

  • There are many technical clubs, music club, arts club, NGO's, dance club, debate society, toastmasters etc at VIT University.
  • Vit consists of students from all parts of India. Also, it has international students from china, south Africa, France etc so, college celebrates almost all the festivals in India.
  • Apart from that, we have our cultural fest called RIVIERA which is one of the best among the Indian colleges (4 days) and tech fest called GRAVITAS every year.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission procedure and  eligibility criteria are that a candidate should have completed graduation in ECE/EE from any AICTU with first-class. There was a separate entrance exam for M.tech which you have to qualify. As per my knowledge is concerned scoring above 60% is a guarantee of a seat in M.Tech and after there will be counseling in which you can opt your course according to your choice and rank.

Academics & Faculty : The definite plus point is the wide variety of courses that are offered and the flexibility that students have in choosing what courses they want to do. I had the opportunity to do several amazing courses while satisfying my electives requirement. I can't speak for other departments but mine had professors who had excellent knowledge in their subjects and could articulate it very well to us. What was disappointing was the testing. I felt like the exams didn't give a window for the student to actually learn and apply his subject. While there are a few courses which have a project component included with them, students usually have to rely on themselves and take the initiative to do projects through non-academic means.
