University School of Information and Communication Technology, [USICT] Delhi Overview

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to MCA, B.Tech and M.Tech at USICT, New Delhi

  • For admission to Bachelor of Technology, the candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examination, having scored at least 50% taken from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
  • For admission to Master of Technology, the candidate must have completed graduation in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) or equivalent examination, having scored at least 55% aggregate marks.
  • Those seeking admission to MCA must have completed BCA or BSc in either one of Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics etc.
  • The MCA programme is provided for specialisation in Software.

Admission Cutoffs at USICT, New Delhi

  • The procedure for admission is mainly through an entrance test - IPU CET.
  • The University School of Information and Communication Technology is a unit of the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and the IPU CET is conducted as a common admission test for most courses.
  • Once the IPU CET is conducted, a list of ranks is released on the basis of merit. IPU CET scores are taken into consideration along with the candidate's performance in the relevant qualifying examination - 10+2 or equivalent/bachelor's degree qualifying examination.
  • The candidates who have secured the highest marks will be given the first preference of seats and the core branch of their choice. They will be called for the first round of counselling.
  • Subsequent admissions will be done according to the merit lists, until all seats have been filled.
  • Any students who are found not to fall in the eligibility criteria will be disqualified from the selection process and therefore will not gain admission to the respective courses.
  • A 5% relaxation in the cut-off percentage is given to SC/ST and other backward category candidates.

Hostel and Mess at USICT, New Delhi

  • Two hostels are provided on the University campus for boys and one for girls.
  • The average hostel fee per year is Rs. 40,000 with some nominal amount taken as a refundable security deposit.
  • One can opt to pay the hostel and mess fees together, which would total to about Rs. 60,000.
  • Candidates can otherwise avail meals at about Rs. 35 per thali. There is an Amul counter, Nescafe counter and a general store available on campus.
  • There is a bank and an ATM facility with 24-hour access for students and staff on campus.
  • The hostels are provided with air conditioning, wifi and 24-hour power backup. There is also hot water available in the bathrooms.
  • Hostelers can make use of the common space and shared furniture free of cost - all basic living needs have been provided, including television, pantry area and laundry stations.
  • The hostel provides facilities for indoor games, reading room, literary and cultural activities for the inmates.
  • The rooms are provided on double and triple sharing basis.
  • Every student in the hostel is given his/her own bed and desk.
  • Students have access to the University gym, sports facilities and outdoor spaces on the campus.
  • Purified drinking water is available on all the floors of the hostel.
  • 24-hour security is deployed on major spots of the campus and around the hostels.

  • There are 4 hostels. Hostels are well maintained, have an excellent mess.
  • The hostel fee is ₹59000/- for one year which includes mess fees too.
  • There are no PGs available outside campus but there is an availability of flats pricing starting from the range of ₹5000/- per month.
  • Food quality is nice in the college with thali costing ₹35/- at University School of Information and Communication Technology, [USICT] New Delhi.

  • Schedule is hectic but no one gives a dime.

  • The quality of professors is zero and they are a waste of time and effort.

  • Overall experience is not good as far as academics and placements are concerned but the campus is beautiful ,green and peaceful. Its huge as well ,located in Dwarka, quite secluded a place,it is !

College Infrastructure
  • 3 hostels ( 2 for boys and 1 for girls). Hostels are great and fee is Rs 50000 annually.
  • Quality of food in college is great, the canteen is awesome and spacious, the rates of food are very reasonable, somewhere around Rs 35 for a thaali. 
  • Quality of classrooms is great, huge library, 2 GB data per day for a student. Wifi speed is blazing fast. Overall infrastructure is awesome.
