Entrance Exams & Admissions : 120 seats are allotted for electrical and electronics engineering course in R.M.D Engineering college. The admission for the above course would require either successful completion of the HSC examination(Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) conducted by Tamil Nadu or accomplishing a diploma in engineering/technology exams conducted by the TN board. In case of the former, the typical cut-off required to pursue the course is 189.75. This may vary depending on your caste and the academic year. In case of the latter, one would get a direct admission to pursue the course from the second year. There are no separate entrance exams conducted by the college to talk up the course.

Placements & Internships : The college offers excellent placement training starting from the year one. The trainings include apptitude, verbal and reasoning practices. In addition to this, Cyclic assessments are conducted and results are continously monitored. Besides the regular trainings, the college provides opportunities to undergo in-plant training every year to gain application-oriented knowledge. The soft skill training are also held to improve the confidence levels and to make one more comfortable communicating in English. In particular, Students are trainined in Buisiness level english and are certified by Cambridge University.  On average, 150 Companies visit our campus for placements every year. Leading companies like Zoho, Birla Soft, Amazon, Tech Mahindra are the regular recruiters. These companies offer a pay ranging from 6-12 Lakhs per annum. Due to this outrageous number of recruiters, The percentage of placements offered is quiet high. In the year 2016, approximately 92 percentage of students who are eligible for placements were recruited.

Academics & Faculty : The class timings starts from 8.a.m to 3.p.m. Each subject period lasts up to 50 minutes.  Henceforth, there is enough time for the teachers to deliver the particulars of the subject and engage with the students to resolve their doubts. The teaching methodologies include stating real time examples for the technical concepts to make students comprehend better. The Concepts are clearly taught in a way to meet the scope of the subject. Students are free to ask for reiterating the syllabus taught to gain clearance. The Feedbacks for each faculty and each subject are collected in a timely manner and respective corrective actions are taken. The cycle tests followed by internal assessments are conducted periodically to evaluate an individual's performance. Furthermore, Class committee meetings are held to actively discuss about the querries related to performance in examinations.  Additionally, The faculties offer students chances to conduct seminars. In this way one would get more comfortable in learning and delivering the same. The intra department mini projects are conducted in the third accademic year. Many competitions are held ever year to encourage innovation and excellance. Hence overall, the experience in college is good.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : The college is situated in a nice and calm environment. Thereby, Fewer chances of being interrupted by the outer noise. The cleanliness is maintained well with in the campus. Power shutdown will never be trouble as there are separate generators installed and maintained by technicians. The Classrooms are equipped with OHP facilities. There are separate seminar halls with LCD Projectors to deliver sessions at huge gatherings. The Labs are provided with adequate number of equipments. In addition to this, Internet facilities are provided in the computer centers located in the campus. The campus also includes a library that works from 8 am to 7 pm. Range of different study materials, Magazines and Journals are arranged section-wise. There is a separate library hour schedulded every week in the time table. Hostel roms are cleaned everyday. About three people accomodate a room. Healthy and Tasy food is provided every day. I can say, one can never get bored by the routine food. The team takes utmost care in preparing and serving quality food.  The  Added advantage is that, There is a gym centre and a beauty parlour within the campus. The hostel fee is 85,000 per year. In case of any health issue, not to worry when there is a health unit with in the campus. Doctors are available throughout the day. In fact there is a medical shop with in the campus. In case of day schollars, The transport facilities are provided. Buses are the main mode of transport. The transport fee varry depending on your location.    

Fees & Scholarships : College fee of RMD Engineering College, [RMDEC] Thiruvallur per year for hostellers will be around R.S.1,65,000 and that for day-scholars will be around R.S.1,20,000. The fee for day-scholars vary depending upon the transport fee. The course fee is about R.S.80,000. Furthermore, Students can avail central scholarships awarded by the Govt. of India.

Clubs & Associations : The occasions like Annual alumni meet, inauguration for engineers, technical symposiums, cultural function and graduation ceremony held yearly. Besides these occasions, the training programs and seminars are conducted from time to time. Anyways, in my point of view, I do not see the effort or importance given to the clubs or any other associations in the college as much as that given to the coaching and placements.
