  • The hostel facility is mandatory for the outside Delhi NCR students.

  • LBSIM has great placements and internships. With over 294 students participating in the placements process, the institute witnessed 305 job offers from 87 companies.
  • The average salary offered is INR 9.9 lakhs. The highest salary offered is around INR 21 LPA.
  • A host of companies drawn from various sectors such as FMCG, consulting, IT and ITes etc.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

The first process of my PGDM course was to write a Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by IIMs on a rotational basis, mostly in the last week of November. The eligibility criteria for the course is as follows:

  • The candidates must have cleared bachelor's programme with a minimum 50% aggregate or equivalent CGPA by any of the universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions. 
  • Candidates appearing for the final bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination can also apply.
  • All candidates seeking admission to LBSIM will be required to appear in the common admission test/ graduate management admission test score.

The cutoffs for the CAT exam ranges between 80-85 percentile, and for the GMAT exams, the score ranges between 650-700.

After getting shortlisted, the candidates have to appear for the GD-PI-WAT round. The management will have the final selection based on the overall process.

  • There are multiple academic and non-academic clubs in LBSIM and various committees like placement cell, alumni cell, corporate interface cell, the management grid, etc.
  • Each club hosts its events and festivities, and there are crossovers too.
  • The annual fest is Tatva.
  • The clubs are not exclusive associations but learning grounds for students passionate about investing or dancing.

  • The hostels are situated within 3km of the institute.
  • The hostels are situated in Sector 8 and Sector 7 (Ramphal Chowk), and the rooms are available on a twin-sharing basis. Each room has its washroom, AC, geyser.
  • The mess service is in the hostel itself, where you will be given four meals - breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. The food is vegetarian. Eggs are available in the institute cafeteria.
  • The institute has state-of-the-art infrastructure and a fully air-conditioned building in Dwarka, New Delhi. They provide bus services free of cost.
  • The campus offers excellent infrastructural facilities and is equipped with an auditorium, having a capacity of 300 people, a huge library spanning two floors and an open-air theatre.

 

 


ACADEMICS & FACULTY

  • Classes start from 9:30 in the morning and can stretch up to 5:15 in the evening. They are generally of 1 and a half hours duration. Due to Covid-19, the classes are online on Microsoft Teams.
  • Since there is a greater weightage on internals, there are individual assignments and a group assignment to be completed along with quizzes and random tests.
  • Each subject in every trimester has a final group assignment. There is a mid-term examination of multiple-choice questions of 20 marks.
  • The faculty has experienced teachers with practical and up-to-date knowledge. There are guest lecturers who frequently visit us as well.
  • The overall college experience is amazing.

  • Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, [LBSIM] New Delhi Fee Structure. The entire course fee is about INR 11 Lakh.
  • There are various scholarship options such as meri-cum-means scholarship and central sector schemes, and the deserving students can avail themselves the merit scholarship from economically weaker backgrounds. There is also the Lalita Shastri scholarship and the Tessy Thomas scholarship.
  • On average, 12 students get the merit scholarship, while the other students can get scholarships based on eligibility criteria.
  • Loans are available for those in need. They can be availed from reputed banks at an average of 10%-14% rate of interest.

  • I'm doing my internship at Getmyuni.
  • We have a stipend ranging from INR 6,000 per month to INR 60,000 per month.
  • Companies from all major fields offer internships across all roles like digital marketing, financial sales, data analysis, etc.
  • We have companies such as Britannia, Marico, Asian Paints, BigBasket, etc., offering internships for students.
  • We also have an extremely strong and interactive alumni network. They are always glad to connect to and approachable. We also have regular seminars and talks with prominent alumni who share their experiences and trials in the field.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process
  • The candidates should obtain a minimum of 50% in their graduation. Students in the final year of graduation can apply as well.
  • The PGDM general course in LBSIM has a rigorous selection process. It comprises scores from competitive examinations like CAT and GMAT, followed by a Written Ability Test (WAT), group discussion and personal interview. The WAT might be switched with an extempore.
  • The group discussion is on a wide variety of topics such as business news, abstract topics, etc. My GD topic was about leaders and their making.
  • The interview is conducted by a diverse faculty panel comprising of teachers from all courses such as marketing, finance, HR, operations, IT, etc. They interviewed me on topics such as graduation, current events, general knowledge, etc.
  • I took the CAT entrance examination.
  • The LBSIM PGDM general has a cut-off of 80 percentile as minimum marks for general candidates and 60 percentile for corporate-sponsored students.

  • 1st instalment of fees’ breakup for the batch 2020-22 was as follows:
    • The tuition fee of INR 3,70,250, the enrolment fee of INR 50,000, the security deposit (refundable) of INR 5,000 and the examination fee of (1st trimester) INR 1,250, totalling INR 4,26,500. If outside Delhi NCR, please add a hostel fee (first instalment) of INR 1,50,000.
  • The instalment-wise breakup of the full course fee as per schedule 2020-22 was as follows:
    • First installment (at the time of admission) INR 4,25,250 + INR 1,250, second installment of INR 2,47,250 + INR 1,250, third installment of INR 2,47,250 + INR 1,250, and fourth & final installment of INR 2,47,250 + INR 1,250. Totaling up to INR 11,67,000 + INR 5,000 (excluding management grid, alumni and hostel fee).
  • Also, scholarships of INR 50,000 were disbursed to students on merit-cum-means basis.

  • As ours is a student-driven institute, we have two major student bodies: placement cell and Management Grid (MG).
  • MG is the liaison between students and faculty, and administration and is also the governing body of the 13 clubs. They are - cerebrate (strategy and consultancy), DARE (data analysis), entrepreneurship cell, eureka (operations & system), finesse (finance), genesis (marketing), HRythm (HR), mirage (creativity & innovation), MnC (Media and Communication), nivesh (mutual fund), plithos (literary and debating), sparsh (social), and zenith (sports).
  • We have four cultural societies as well, that are, razzmatazz (dance), mantra (music), vogue (fashion), and abhivyakti (dramatics).
  • Plithos organizes national level debating competition called Lalita Shastri debating competition with a prize pool of INR 50,000 cash in 2021.
  • Every club concludes its activities in a 48-hours annual fest TATVA.
  • Other student bodies involve alumni cell, ELD (External Liaison Division), rural immersion and corporate immersion.

  • Well-known companies like EY-GDS, Marico, Britania, Delloite, ICICI and Asian Paints visit our campus not for only placements but internships also.
  • These companies also offer opportunities for PPO (Pre-Placement Offer).
  • B R Specialities, Big Basket, Sports 365, and Decathlon also offer internships to the students.
  • This year we even had Fidelity Investments, an American multinational financial services corporation, visit our campus with a stipend offer of INR 60,000/month.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process
  • The eligibility criteria were obtaining a minimum of 85% to get shortlisted.
  • Then we had GD (Group Discussion) and WAT (Writing Ability Test) on a topic chosen by draw of lots.
  • The shortlisted students had PI (Personal Interview) with a panel consisting of 3 to 6 faculty members.
  • After GD-WAT-PI was completed for all the candidates, they released the names of the selected students and those on the waiting list.
  • If one of the selected students withdraws from his/her seat, then the seat will get allotted to a student from the waiting list.
  • The students can confirm the seat by paying the first instalment. There are a total of four instalments.

  • My internship is in the field of content marketing, and the stipend is INR 6,000.
  • The companies hire our students for marketing, sales and finance roles.
  • For the 2019-21 batch, over 280 students participated in the placement process. The highest package offered for this year was INR 20 LPA, with the average CTC was INR 9.9 LPA, with an increase of 7.5% from the previous year.
  • We have an active alumni network, and so many companies come through the alumni network.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process
  • To be qualified for admission to the PGDM program, the members should have a degree, with at least half total imprints or comparable in any order, from a perceived college in India or abroad.
  • I took the CAT entrance exam.
  • The typical cutoffs for my course is 90 percentile.

  • The college consists of several academic clubs, non-academic clubs which includes sports club, cultural clubs, etc. It also has an alumni cell to remain in contact with the college's alumni and the placement cell to manage all the college placement-related activities.
  • The main festivals of the college are samarthya month and tatva. In samarthya month, every academic and non-academic club organising some events with participation is only within the college. During tatva, every club organises multiple events, and students from other colleges participate in these events.
  • In general, life is college is pretty good.

  • There are two boys hostel and one girl's hostel available for students outside the Delhi NCR region. Hostel fees is INR 1.5 lacs for the first year and INR 1.65 lacs for the second year.
  • Food in college is good, and its cost varies with what item you want to eat. Every variety of food is available in the college canteen.
  • Classrooms are fully air-conditioned, with projectors available in every classroom for teaching purpose. College also provides a free wi-fi facility along with well-developed labs and a library.

  • The daily routine of college is fully packed. Classes start from 9:30 in the morning and go on till 5 in the evening. Projects and assignments are given by faculty weekly for learning the purpose of the students. Exams are held in 2 portions, midterm exams after 1.5 months and end-term exams after three months of a trimester.
  • The quality of teaching is good, with faculty giving a complete understanding of the concepts in every subject during classroom learning, and students also learn through projects and assignment.
  • The overall experience at LBSIM is pretty good.

  • The Alumni network of LBSIM is pretty strong. LBBSIM has alumni from various parts of the country, and some are from outside India as well.

The activities of the clubs will continue throughout the year giving a much needed escape from the hectic schedule of MBA life.

The institute provides hostel facilities with up to 4 hostels spread across Sector 7 & Sector 8, Dwarka, Delhi. The hostel fee is to be paid in two annual installments that costs a total of ₹4 lakhs to ₹5 lakhs for the two years. The fee includes food, water and transport costs. Monthly energy charges are to be paid by the occupants of each room. Decent quality food is served at the hostel while a separate cafeteria facility is also available at the institute. Classrooms, Labs, Libraries and other facilitites are maintained at the highest standards. Fast Wi-Fi facilities are also made available for the students.

The candidate should hold a Bachelor's Degree with minimum 50% marks (or equivalent CGPA). A valid CAT or GMAT score is required with the cutoff being about 80 percentile. There are no sectional cutoffs (as in a minimum percentile required for each section namely Verbal, Quantitave Aptitude etc.)

LBSIM is a student driven institute and everything from admissions to social media and media presence to placements is controlled by students. There are 16 academic and non-academic clubs in the institute.

The cultural life is quite rich in the institute as all festivites are fully celebrated. We have Samrthya week, where events are organized by the various clubs throughout the period. Our annual fest, TATVA is celebrated with zest and we also have Sports fest and tech fest organized at our institute

Dignitaries and speakers are invited throughout the year to encourage the students and make them aware of what's going on in the industry.

College life is full of fun and learning.

The institute provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls. These are air-conditioned hostels situated about 3-4 kms from the institute. Free bus facilities are provided throughout the day to travel to and from hostel to institute. Mess charges are included in the hostel fees which are taken at the beginning of the year for the whole year. 

The institute provides free wifi to all the students. The institute has a state of the art library and Bloomberg lab, as well as computer labs. The labs and classrooms are fully air-conditioned equipped with projectors and speakers for audio and visual aid in teaching.

PGDM is a rigorous course, classes start at about 9:45 in the morning and continue until 5:30 in the evening. LBSIM focuses on experience based learning so plethora of assignments and class projects are given. The faculty is very experienced and it's dedicated to clarifying each and everyone's doubts.

I got an internship through the institute itself and everyone gets their internship through the institute. Big Companies like Deloitte, EY, Asian Paints, Infosys etc as well as startups visit the campus for offering internships as well as placements to the students. Average salary has been around 9-10 lpa, and highest was around 27 lpa. 100% of the batch got campus placement unless they opted out of the placement procedure.

I got into the Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management through CAT. After I got a call for admissions, we had a WAT and PI which is conducted in all major cities. The cutoff for CAT usually hovers around 80%.
