The eligibility criteria that one should hold to get an admission in our college is to hold the rank higher than 5000 in WBJEE exam for general category candidates and this will vary according to the caste category. There is nothing like cutoffs for the course but rank matters a lot as it is the 2nd ranking govt college in West Bengal after JU that a student can be admitted through WBJEE. HSC marks should be 60% marks.
I took WBJEE exam in the year 2017 and got Mechanical Engineering in the third round after having a general merit rank of 3007 and the closing rank was 3271(general category) in the Mechanical Engineering department.The closing ranks for other departments were also fair.So undoubtedly, it gets one of the best minds and the faculty here is also outstanding. Besides that, many more opportunities are also available here.
My rank in WBJEE was 4700 which falls within the cut-off in decentralized counseling. WBJEE is the required entrance examination for getting admission in this college. The cut-off for my course is usually 4200 in centralized counseling and around 5000 in decentralized counseling.
Eligibility Criteria was to pass 10+2 exam. The admission procedure was quite easy. The entrance examination is WBJEE. The cutoff marks are 3000 in WBJEE.

The undergraduate students (B.Tech.) of this college are admitted from the WB Joint Entrance Examination (WB-JEE)which is very competitive in nature. B.Tech. courses have provision of 20% lateral entry at the second year level from WB Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET). Similarly, the M.C.A. students are being admitted through WB MCA Joint Entrance Examination (JECA). The institute takes admission to M Tech courses by GATE examination and PGET exam conducted by WBUT.
The institute being a government one, has no management quota private admission facility for any of its courses.
