The application process is available Online as well as Offline. Candidates with a valid GATE/CEED score can fill the application form available online. Candidates without GATE/CEED score must download the application form from the university’s official website.
Besides, candidates seeking admission in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, are also required to apply at the official websites of the respective entrance examinations.
B.Tech aspirants can fill the application form of JEE Advanced through the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA). Similarly, M.Tech applicants must register on the official website of the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP).

Step 1: Create yourself a login in this site to get started with the application process (check for heading, "You must log in or register to view this form")
Step 2: Choose the option "Create a new account" in the user login menu, enter a login name of your choice and a valid email address
Step 3: Look out for an email from IIT Hyderabad email-id for verification. Please click on the link provided in the mail to validate your account and to set your password. Use this password along with the login name you provided to log in to this site. You can change your password or request to reset the password on this portal
Step 4: Log in to the site and follow the links, in the main menu on the left to fill your application form online. The email alert will be sent to your email address, please make sure that emails with the from address "@iith.ac.in" do not get caught in your spam/junk mail folder
Step 5: Your application will not be submitted until you "click" Submit button. After submission, you will receive an acknowledgement mail on your registered mail-id
Step 6: While uploading documents in the form give a unique name to avoid uploading errors. The application fee for admission is INR 600 for all candidates. Payment should be ONLINE ONLY using credit/debit card/ net banking. Challan payment is not accepted. Also, the rejection of an offer to be done ONLINE only. The applicants can submit applications after paying the fee

Students seeking admission post-Higher Secondary examination of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, or its equivalent are selected based on JEE Entrance Examination. In the first round for B.Des counselling, the seats are provisionally allotted, to the candidates based on their choices, the seat matrix, and respective UCEED ranks. Digital copies of certificates are verified and, if found in order, candidates get the seat allotment letter, with a provision to either freeze or float. The candidates accept the seats provisionally allotted by paying 60000 through a common online payment portal. The second round is document verification & registration, after which selected students will report at the IIT Hyderabad campus after payment of INR 60,000.

All candidates must have passed Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant field of Engineering and Technology. It is crucial to have a degree from All India Council for Technical Education or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent.
IITH has a joint PhD program with Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. All first-year PhD students are eligible for admission to the joint-PhD program. However, the selection is dependent on faculty recommendation and performance in the interview. Under this program, the selected students get to spend one year at SUT for doing research. Both IITH faculty member and a SUT faculty will coach and guide the selected students.

As per the norms, minimum eligibility criteria for admission for the PhD program, the candidates must have passed Master’s Degree in any discipline with minimum 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ ST candidates) from a recognized University.
To get admission in IIT Hyderabad, the applicants must follow JoSAA counselling 2021. The seats are allotted to the candidates in seven rounds of JoSAA counselling 2021 based on the cut-off of the institute, and the candidate's preference of courses and colleges.
