Two hotels are available for girls. Ladies hostels are situated inside of the campus. Hostel fee is about 1500 per month. Gecb also offers post graduation programs in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. Our college is blessed with a clean and hygienic canteen offers delicious food. especially chicken biryani for just 55 rupees per plate. And also provides meals for just 35 rupees. Quality of classrooms is satisfactory. And each lecture hall has projectors. Labs like Mechanical lab, Electrical lab, electronics lab, communication lab, material testing lab are good. The college has a large library with lots of reference books etc. College offers high-speed free WiFi of 100 MB/s. The main building has two lists. GECB has got two NBA accreditation. And offers Honour's degree in Btech from the 2018 batch.
College begins at 9'0 clock and up to 4:00 pm. College buses are available with affordable charges for day scholars. There is a systematic way for projects, exams, and assignments. Quality and method of teaching are outstanding and unexplainable. College is blessed with faculties who are postgraduate from IITs and NITs. As Gecb is a government college, the course fee is affordable. Government Engineering College, [GECBH] Thiruvananthapuram [B. Tech] (Mechanical Engineering) Fee Structure. The fee for my course is Rs 8,000 per semester. For SC ST students course fee reduction was available. There are many scholarships available for students like E Grantz, MEA (Malayalees Engineering Association) scholarships, National scholarships, etc. More than 70% of students who got scholarships. The loan is absolutely needless as fee structure is affordable for all categories of students.
GECB also provides Internships and stipends. There are many companies like Wipro etc. that hire from our campus every year. More than 50% of a batch which gets placed each year with average salary figures around 10 Lakhs per year. Aspirants must pass their Higher secondary or plus two equivalents with a minimum of 75% mark. Aspirants must attend an entrance test (KEAM) and qualify within a rank of below 4000. For mechanical engineering cut-offs for general category was within 4000 ranks in KEAM entrance. Govt engineering college Thiruvananthapuram (GECB) also offers courses like BTech in Civil engineering, Electrical and electronics engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Information technology. GECB is the only college in South India that offers a course in collaboration with Mercedes Benz (ADAM).
A lot of technical students societies are there in the campus. IEEE is the major one and receives accolades every year for the performance. We were awarded outstanding student branch for the year 2017. The other societies include women in engineering, Robotic and Automation society, Power and Energy management society, Computer Engineers society, Indian society for technical society etc.
2 ladies hostels are there within the campus. A men's hostel is being setup off campus. A lot of hostels and PG facilities are available in the vicinity of the college and the average cost will be around INR 4000 per month.
Class timings are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The level of teaching is high. College does allow a lot of extracurricular activities as well as socially responsible programs.
The course fee per year is INR 17000. A plethora scholarship is available to the students. Many of them are provided by the government itself. 100% fees will be offered by these scholarships alone. Around 150 students receive scholarship per year. Loans are not necessary as the fees are affordable.
Internships are not necessary for the curriculum according to the University. But students do take internships in various fields like thermal and hydropower plants, steel manufacturing plants, nuclear power plants etc. The institution has a great placement record. Almost all the students get placed. More than 50% of the placement occurs in the IT sector. The highest salary offered was INR 16 lakhs per annum.
Eligibility criteria are completing plus two in any syllabus with physics maths and chemistry as subjects scoring not less than 50% for each. The entrance exam was Kerala Engineering Architecture and Medicine Entrance exam. In order to get admitted to the college, the rank should be within 3000.
There is a Ladies hostel next to the college campus. The hostel takes fee only for the mess which is also affordable. The food in the college is good. Quality of the classrooms is good. We have got an excellent library and free Wi-Fi also. The infrastructure quality is good, but labs do need improvement.
The class starts at 9 am and lasts until 4 pm. Each day constitutes 6 periods each of 1-hour duration. The classes and all the faculties are excellent. The college has an excellent atmosphere and each day at the college provides a memorable experience.
The fee per annum is INR 8225. A lot of scholarships available for all the students in different fields and these are properly informed to the students by the college authorities and these are also properly utilised by the students. The loan is not required.

There is a hostel for female students but none for a male. I dont know the fees. The food is relatively cheap and pretty tasty for that price range. Classrooms are of good quality and there are proper labs though somewhat small there's also college wifi.
Daily routine consists of 6hours of classes and 1hr break for lunch Teaching quality is good and there is a use of ppt for the tough part. The overall experience is good.

Only one for Girls. There are a lot of hostels/PGs nearby. Food from college canteen is okay. The food cost is Rs 50 per meal. Classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. Labs are well maintained.
