Government Engineering College, Barton Hill Scholarships

Fee Waiver Scheme

AICTE has introduced Fee Waiver Scheme in the institutions approved by it. Under the scheme, the Competent Authority for admissions shall be the same as for regular admissions.  And Institutions shall provide tuition fee waiver up to 10 percent of its sanctioned intake of students.  Typically for every 60 sanctioned intake in a branch/discipline of study, tuition fee waiver shall be given to two woman candidates, three economically weaker students (Annual income of Parents/Guardians less than Rs. 2.50 lakhs from all sources) and one physically handicapped students based on merit.  In the event of non-availability of students in a specific category as above, the benefit will be given to any other candidate of other categories according to merit.  

Government of Kerala has issued orders to implement the Scheme. Commissioner for Entrance Examinations is the allotting authority for all the 100% seats based on the merits of the Entrance Examination.

  • The course fee per year is INR 6400/-.
  • The scholarships available are E-grantz Scholarship, Central Sector Scholarship and Scholarship funded by college PTA. On an average 50% of the class avail the scholarships.
  • Loans are necessary to cover further expenditures other than college fees. The money is directly remitted to the student's bank account.

As Gecb is a government college, the course fee is affordable. Government Engineering College, [GECBH] Thiruvananthapuram [B. Tech] (Mechanical Engineering) Fee Structure. The fee for my course is Rs 8,000 per semester. For SC ST students course fee reduction was available. There are many scholarships available for students like E Grantz, MEA (Malayalees Engineering Association) scholarships, National scholarships, etc. More than 70% of students who got scholarships. The loan is absolutely needless as fee structure is affordable for all categories of students.

The course fee per year is INR 17000. A plethora scholarship is available to the students. Many of them are provided by the government itself. 100% fees will be offered by these scholarships alone. Around 150 students receive scholarship per year. Loans are not necessary as the fees are affordable.

The fee per annum is INR 8225. A lot of scholarships available for all the students in different fields and these are properly informed to the students by the college authorities and these are also properly utilised by the students. The loan is not required.
