Father Muller Medical College is a unit of Fr. Muller's Charitable Institutions, a Registered Society sponsored by the Catholic Diocese of Mangalore; a Religious Minority Educational Institution established primarily for the benefit of the members of the Christian Community. The Postgraduate courses MD/ MS/ Diploma were started in the year 1991 and the Undergraduate course MBBS was started in the year 1999. Like all other Educational institution under Catholic auspices, it is open to all persons irrespective of religion, caste or community. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has accredited Father Muller Medical College with an 'A' grade, making it the first medical college under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, to be so accredited. Also, the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees awarded at Fr Muller Medical College under RGUHS, Karnataka, are recognized and approved by MCI, New Delhi. Father Muller Medical College offers Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) for a duration of five years. FMMC is known to offer courses in MBBS, B.Sc, and BPT. MBBS and BPT are offered for a duration of four and a half years with a one-year compulsory rotating internship course. B.Sc in allied sciences is a three-year full-time course. The academic eligibility for undergraduate courses is passing in science stream in PUC or equivalent examination and English as a compulsory subject.

In order to seek admission, the eligible candidates will have to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG). The minimum age for seeking admission is 17 years. The maximum age limit for seeking admission is 25 years (For general) and 30 years (For reserved category). Candidates must obtain a valid NEET UG rank to apply for the MBBS program. The B.Sc program at Father Muller Medical College is offered for a duration of four years. All admissions to MBBS will be done on the basis of the valid rank obtained in the NEET followed by KEA counselling. BPT and B.Sc admissions are strictly done on merit of qualifying examination with respect to norms established by RGUHS.
The college offers a few postgraduate programs in Doctor Of Medicine (MD), and Master Of Surgery (MS). The college offers 11 specializations in Doctor of Medicine (MD) and 5 specializations in Master Of Surgery (MS). All the diploma students are full-time postgraduate students attached to the concerned department. Duties and responsibilities are the same as MD/ MS students.

Candidates who have completed MBBS and internship are eligible to apply for admission into MS/ MD/ MHA courses. Applicants can get admission on the basis of NEET PG result. NEET-PG is a computer-based test of 3 hours 30 minutes duration and has 300 MCQs to attempt. Candidates who belong to the General category and have scored a minimum of 50% are considered qualified and those who belong to SC/ ST/ OBC category should have obtained at least 40% to qualify the test.
The college also offers a Super Specialty course in Urology. The course is offered for three-year and is affiliated to RGUHS. Candidates applying for M.CH must appear in the Super Specialty entrance test NEET SS conducted by NBE. The minimum eligibility requirement to apply for admission is to have an MD/ MS degree in concerned subject from an institution recognized by MCI. Candidates must complete a rotating internship by April 30, 2021, and should be registered with MCI. The application form has to be submitted through the official website of RGUHS. The selection process will be based on NEET SS.

Admission to the applicants into MD/ MS/ PG Diploma courses is given based on their score in NEET PG. Admissions to BPT, B.Sc, M.Sc, MPT and MHA are done on the merit of qualifying examinations or entrance exams conducted by RGUHS. Candidates opting for Super Specialty in Urology must appear in NEET SS conducted by NBE.
