    FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
    • Course fees per semester at Indian Institute of Technology is Rs. 75,000 including hostel, tuition, and mess.
    • There is one scholarship available for sc/st students.
    • 5 out of 100 students get this scholarship facility.
    • Yes, loans are very important and they can be availed from Canara or SBI bank.

    FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP:
    • Course Fee: 18000 INR tuition fees, + 30000 in accommodation & Mess eating facility (optional) = 48000 INR.]
    • General scholarship of Rs 25000/28000 is available for all PhD students.
    • There are special project positions sponsored by companies such as Applied Materials, IBM, TCS etc that offer stipends up to 60000 INR/month.
    • Even the professor can sponsor you further from project funds.
    • PM Scholarship of Rs 75000/month, Visweswaraya scholarship Rs 35-70k / month, and many other are there.
    • All students that get the minimum of Rs 25k-28k/month scholarship at IIT Bombay.
    • Loans are easily available on campus from SBI/Canara Bank. As such not needed.

    • Fee structure : For every semester students have to pay following Fees based on different categories . 1 year consists of TWO semesters in IIT, Bombay.

    Every semester : ( All prices mentioned is in INR)

    1. Academic Fee - 60,000  for GEN,OBC students

    2. Academic Fee - 15,000 for ST,SC students

    3. Hostel Fee - 15,000 ( Common for all categories)

    • Scholarships Options :

    Institute offers various types of scholarships to students consisting of both private and Government ones.

    • Loans - There are many students in IIT Bombay who are not from good financial background so a lot of Banks provide education loans at 0 % interest rate like CANARA BANK and STATE BANK OF INDIA ( Both are located inside the campus). They can be easily availed with no difficulties.

     Recently There has been a HIKE in fee system which is being heavily criticised and no final decision has yet been taken by the MHRD ministy !

    • Mainly two types of fees in IIT Bombay . One is tuition fee and other is hostel  fee . Hostel fee is 15000/semester for every category students. While tuition fee is RS57000 for general and obc   and RS15000 for sc/st/pwd per semester.
    • Scholarships are like free messing for sc/st , MCM for obc etc.
    • 33% students possibly  get the scholarship .
    • Loan is  depend on Parent Salary . If it is required then it  can be get from the bank easily.

    • Course fee is Rs 75 thousand per year.
    • There are institute scholarships, and some private scholarships are also available to the students.
    • Around 15-20% of the students get the scholarship.
    • Sometimes loans are needed for fee payment. Leading banks like SBI, Canara Bank etc. are easily providing the loans.

    Choice of specialisation for M.Tech is to be made only from parent bachelors department.

    There is also a 5 year integrated M.Sc Chemistry course.

    • Scholarships are provided only to Reserved castes and the financially poor students at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
    • I completely agree with the scholarships given to poor people but not on the basis of reserved caste.
    • I think scholarships must also be given to excellent students irrespective of their castes/income of parents.

    • College fee is not too high at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay.
    • The scholarship is provided to many deserving candidates. The percentage of students securing scholarship is around 50 percent.
    • The SBI bank and Student benevolent Fund, IITB provides bank loans to needy students at a very low-interest rate.
