University organizes campus drives at the end of year for all departments. Many big giants like Microsoft, Google, HCL, etc take part in these drives. Banking industries like HDFC, ICICI etc are also part of it. The starting package offered to a B.Com graduate varies from INR 5-7 LPA which is a very decent start for a graduate.
There are around 6 hostels within the campus and more than 6 off-campus hostels to accommodate students. The hostel fees are around INR 65,000 per year including food.
If one does not want to accommodate in hostel, students can easily avail PG's nearby, as university is located in such a place where there are huge PG options available within 10km area of university.
There are various food joints available within the campus, from Domino's, Lapino's to a whole new food court. The meal is pretty affordable, ranging from Rs. 50 to Rs. 500 max.
Apart from this, the university campus has beautiful infrastructure, with modernised classrooms, theater, well developed laboratories, computer labs, central & departmental libraries etc.
Overall it has a well developed and accomplished infrastructure.
I got admission in Chandigarh University based on merits. There is no entrance exam for B.Com and admission is purely based on 12th board exam scores. To get admission in Chandigarh University one needs to score atleast 80% marks in their 12th final exams.
The timing of classes are from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm with 1 hour lunch break. The classroom are well furnished and the quality of education is excellent.
The teaching-learning process is interactive, interesting, and is a combination of traditional & modern methods.
Overall experience of the classroom and college is enlightening.
Chandigarh University, [CU] Chandigarh B.Com Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 45,000 per annum.
CU hostel fees amounts to INR 65,000 per annum.
Students with 90% or more percentage will get 20% scholarship. Scholarship is also given to those who are sportsperson and have played states, nationals or international matches. Scholarship are offered to OBC and SC/ST students of Punjab State.
Students can join various departmental and university level societies. At department level there are four clubs such as Marketing, HR, Finance, and Cultural. Apart from departmental clubs one can take part in university-level festivals and can organised events via DSW (Department of Students Welfare).
CU organises number of events, starting with freshers programs, Tashan nights with Bollywood and Punjabi stars, CU fests, international conference, Tech events, Ted talks, youth festival etc.
