Chandigarh University is well known for its placements. They hold Limca book of records for maximum companies in an academic session with the highest number of placements. Of our batch, nearly 30-40 percent of students had received campus placement offers, even though it was the first batch to pass. The highest package was between 5.4 to 6.25 lakhs per annum. As i remember those got placed, none of them received a package of below 3 lakhs.

Department have faculty from industry back ground. We had regular seminars by industry experts along with frequent industrial visits. Corporate advisory boards are also there which continuously give their feedback for curriculum design keeping in mind the current and future industry requirements.

The thing that i liked the most was 100% internships. We got internships in Institutes like IIT Indor, IISER Mohali, INST Chandigarh, CSIR, IIM, ICAR. Top industries such as CADILA, SUNPHARMA, GARNIER, SENTIS PHARMA and ACC cement etc. Our department delivered their best to get these figures. Even our junoirs, 100% students has gone for internships. My cousin is among them.

Another thing which inspires the students is the efforts made by the department to indulge their students in research. You can collaborate with any of the faculty for reaseach even though if you are not a dissertation student. In the seminar classes we were taught who to write a research paper and give presentations, making our future job ready.

The best of the infrastructure, with the best services. From the food points, the buildings to the enviroment, every thing is graet. Whether its for hostel or acdemic blocks, you will get the cleanest of the campus. They have been awarded for this.  

Related to my department. Its a young department but no limits in terms of infrastructure. From instruments to labs, classes to seminar halls everything is A class. We also have dedicated labs for each specialisation, separate research labs and Sophisticated instrumentation lab also. A centralised instrumentation lab is also available in R and D departments. If you just ask for it, they will try their best to give it to you. Although there is scope of improvement, but still so far so good.

The admission criteria is simple. You should have 50% marks in agregate in your graduation degree (B.Sc.) with chemistry as a major subject. Although admission is on first come- first serve basis but remember seats are limited, once filled the chances are minimal. The admission procedure is really simple. You can just visit the CU website and go for admissions, the rest they will take care of.Or you can visit the regional offices also. For admission documents required are your DMCs of 10th, +2 and graduation, Adhar card, Migration certificate and character certificate from the institution last passed. 

They are accridated NAAC A+. Youngest university in India to achieve so and that to in first round. They are only the second University in punjab and 8th in northern India to have NAAC A+ . Timings are from 9:30 am to 4:20 pm but not for the whole week. Most of the days its upto 3:00 pm. Fully interactive classes with multimedia projectors and internet facilities.

You get everything on your CUIMS, from study material to any official announcement, everything. The evaluation system is really transparent, again everything is online. They follow the relative grading system for evaluation. 

Your first two semesters will be common for all. From the third semester onwards, you get electives in four streams, Organic, Inorganic, Physical and Analytical (as per my knowledge, its 5 from this session onwards- environment chemistry is new one). Dissertation also starts from the 3rd sem onwards. You also have the opportunity of semester abroad and semester exchange in more than 92 international institutes in more than 25 countries. Six of my classmates have availed this opportunity in Australia, France and Germany.

The faculty is, the best. They are knowladgeable, helping, careing and always available. They will give you their best. From academic support to moral support, I got everything from them. I will always be thankful to my mentor. You need not to go anywhere for any query or problem, go to your mentor. They will do it for you. I have rated 9 points, all of them are for my teachers, the one point deducted is for 75% attendance clause.

Fee structure in course is low in comparison to their competitors in North zone. along with the govenment schollarships, they provide scholarships on basis of your academic score also. Schollarships are available for Army personals wards also. A graet initiative that they have started this session is schollarships for wards of Corona warriors (Doctors, Nurses, Police, paramedical staff etc). They dohave an schollarship test i.e. CUSET but this is not applicable in M.Sc. Chemistry. Thats the reason i gave them a seven in this category. 

Student loans are also available. They have a seprate cell which will help in relation to get the loan. These loans are with minimal of interest and that you need to start paying 1-2 years afer completio of degree. No body will force you topay that before. Its a government rule.

3 clubs, along with the international student chapter of American chemical society in department. Overall University, unlimited. They will support you every where, from inovations to sports, from co-curricular to extra curricular, numerous opportunities.This year i.e. 2020, they are Overall Winners of all India Interuniversity Youth festival. They will help you in such activities. My classmate, Kapil Dhayia is AIU gold medalist in American football. He has represented India in the International Youth Games, where they were gold medalists again.
