Anand Muthukrishnan's Review on Christ University, Bangalore

Masters in English enables the students to go on their own to any part of the country and do an internship of their own choice with related to the program after the second-semester examinations. Every student has a faculty in charge who he/she has to report during the course of the interview through emails. A viva will be conducted to evaluate the students and this will be included as a separate course for the third semester. There will be two placement coordinators for the program and will be continuously informing the students with the offers that the companies offer. Companies like Aruba, IBM had hired students from MA in English. The maximum package that they offered was around 7 lacs per annum. Almost 60% of the class had got placed before completing their degree.     

There are two hostels, one for boys and the other for girls situated inside the premises of the institution. There are a lot of PGs surrounding the institution. Every block has a minimum of three to four eateries that provide food from a minimum of 30 INR to 100 INR. There are both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian eateries. Every hall, floor, classrooms, toilets are swept and cleaned twice a day. The institution provides free Wi-Fi to students that they can use it in their laptops. It is not just that but they provide free access to JSTOR which is full of scholarly articles and journals. Library plays a very important roles in the lives of students at Christ University. 

Masters in English at Christ University provides students from all programs to apply and attend the entrance exam. It is not just limited to students who pursued their Bachelor's degree in English. The admission procedure is simple and gives a complete clarity to the candidate who has applied for the program. The candidates can check the status of their application through their login details. The exam is to evaluate the candidate's comprehension and passion for the language and does not test on the candidate's knowledge of literature since the program is open to everyone. The personal interview is the most important part of the admission where the candidate is tested on various levels. 

Since the program is full time, the timings are from 9 am to 4 pm. Apart from the role of the teachers, every classroom has a projector and speakers so that the students can institution learn through audio-visual means. The university gives a different experience and exposure to every student. 

This is a two year program and the first year fees were 55000INR and the second year was 45000INR. The institution offers various scholarships from academics to sports. There is a bank (South Indian Bank) inside the campus in order that deals with the bank accounts of students of Christ University. 

There are a lot of clubs, associations that students enroll. There is CAPS, CSW, SWO, Student Council, Srujana, NCC, NSS, Theater club, etc. Blossoms, In-Bloom, Darpan, Ethnic Day are the main festivals on campus. Life on campus is so different from the outside world that when a person loses something inside the premises can be found in Lost and Found the very next day.
