Sayambrita Gogoi's Review on Sharda University

In dentistry at Sharda University, after clearing 4th year professional exams the students can apply for paid internship in the college. Minimum stipend is INR 3000 per month for 1 year. The internship gives the opportunity for good clinical experiences related to all 7 departments of dentistry. While doing internship here one can also prepare for NEET-PG entrance examination.

4 girls hostel and 4 boys hostels available with both AC and non AC single/double rooms with/without balconies with free laundry service. Fee starts from INR 1,25,000 yearly. Good PGs are easily available near campus with easy transportation facilities.  INR 5000 to INR 10000 depending on facilities provided. Good quality Vegetarian meal for Indian students and Non veg meals for international students given 4times a day in mess( with TV and air conditioning) in the respective hostels. Fooding and lodging included in hostel fees. Incampus restaurants and departmental stores, 24*7 pharmacy and eateries available within campus. To get into BDS course in Sharda University applicant should appear for NEET-UG after clearing 12th board exam. Student appearing for UPCPMT can also apply but NEET-UG is mandatory. I appeared for NEET-UG and UPCPMT entrance exams. Minimum 60% is required in 12th boards with compulsory subjects: Biology, chemistry and physics. The students who have excelled in sporting activities at National Level & State Level will be eligible for Sports Scholarship from 15% to 100% in 1st Year. 

Every new session starts from the month of August and ends in July. Regular classes starts from 9am with lunch break at 1-2pm and classes end at 4pm. For the 1st and 2nd year classes are suspended on Saturday. For 3rd and 4th year students, Saturday is half day classes till 1pm. The college is strict regarding attendance with 75% mandatory. Students can be updated with their attendance through the V-attendance App which he/she has to download in their mobile phones and login with their credentials. 3 internal exams are conducted prior to BDS professional exams for better evaluation of the students in each year. Parents are regularly updated with their ward's performance in each exam. The teachers here are highly qualified, who provide good quality education and are student friendly and very supportive. Dental Fest is also organised every year where students can show off their skills in sports and other extra curricular activities. Overall the college provides a very healthy environment for every student.

The BDS course fee per year is INR 4,00,000. Discount of 4% can also be availed from 2nd year onwards (conditions apply**). The students who have excelled in sporting activities at National Level & State Level will be eligible for Sports Scholarship from 15% to 100% in 1st Year.  Students can also apply for Student Education loans from HDFC, SBI, CANARA BANK and SYNDICATE BANK.

There are numerous student societies, clubs and associations which students can join easily and become an active member. The biggest college fest Chorus is held every year where students from all across North India participate and make it great. Autumn festival and other sports festivals are also help yearly. Life is fun, interesting and adventurous where you get to learn alot and meet new people. Here students get lots of scope to nurture themselves and know their abilities and capabilities.
