• Hostel facilities at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi:-

1. IIT (BHU), Varanasi has a residential and co-educational campus built on an area of 400 acres (1.6 km²) within the larger BHU campus which is spread over nearly 1,300 acres (5.3 km²) at the southern end of Varanasi on the banks of the River Ganges.
2. There are 17 hostels for students, 12 for boys, 4 for girls and 1 for married couples.

• Library facilities at Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT] Varanasi:-

1. The Institute has one Main Library along with many Departmental Libraries. These libraries house more than 200,000 books and subscribe to a large number of scientific and technical journals. Online access to these journals is also possible. All the students are provided with textbook bank facilities where a certain number of books are issued to them for the semester.

• Admission to all programs is expressly through the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology. 
• From 2013 admission to undergraduate programs will be based on two-tier test called (1) JEE (MAIN) & (2) JEE (Advanced). In addition, the students qualifying through JEE (Advanced) test need to be in the top 20 percentile of the respective categories and/or have secured 75% or above in the qualifying exam conducted by the boards of their respective state/UT.
