Placements and Internships
- After completion of 3rd year, I have done my training in my home town ( Distillery unit in BAJAJ HINDUSTHAN SUGAR LIMITED). There are no internships yet .
- The key companies coming to Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya are IT, and Manufacturing companies every year like last yr one gaming company of Hyderabad came and three students were placed on an around 8.25 lakh p.a.
- The average salary is Rs. 3.25 lakh p.a. The highest salary is Rs. 12 lakh after 6 months training program , initially it was Rs. 8.25 lakh p.a.
- I am not sure about percentage of placement because mainly our college students focus on GATE and GRE program for higher studies.
- Alumni network of GGU is not as good as it should be .
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 4 hostels in which 2 for boys , 1 for girls and 1 is under construction , hostels are average is fees -200/- per month approx for a living .
- Yes, there are various options outside the college , they are good and a peace living and study atmosphere , cost -1500/- for single , 2000-2400/- for double seaters and 6000-8000/- for flats in which 4-6 students can reside .
- Food in the hostel is around 2500/- per month in which they are given two-time meals and a light breakfast and tea time . It is good.
- Classroom quality is good , labs are average , library are good , wifi are less but library ,department, and hostel wifi are good working , infrastructure is up to the mark we can say that average or good.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- You have to just clear the entrance examination which is JEE MAIN (AIEEE before) and after that apply for the counselling and get the branch according to your all India rank.
- JEE MAIN is conducted (AIEEE before)on all India exam .
- It varies every year at my time of admission in 2013, the cut off for general candidates is approximate 60000 in all India rank to get into Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya
Academics and Faculty
- Daily Routine is from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. in which 12 p. m. -1p. m. or 1 p. m.- 2 p. m. for lunch as per time table decided for classes and lab. They are either in 1st half or 2nd half.
- Three internal exams for subjects are taken i.e two class tests and one mid-semester exam . After that end sem exam after 4-5 month of schedule studies . Projects are in 4th year that are compulsory (Minor and Major in 7th and 8th sem) , or you can do in 2nd and 3rd yr by making ur own group and choose the faculty .
- Quality of teaching in Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is good , and the method too , mostly teachers focus on gate syllabus and they refer IIT and IISC's lectures.
- Overall Experience is nice because I got what I wanted (chemical engineering) and less fees, government university and time and material for GATE .
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee in Guru Ghasidas Vishwa Vidyalaya is Rs 21000/- per year .
- The scholarship options are based on State-level scholarships , other state scholarships , Minority scholarships , Sports scholarships , etc .
- The average number of students who get the scholarship is 60% approximately .
- No, there is no need to take a loan because the fee is too less.
Clubs and Associations
- There are students societies which is made every year by having elections in college , rather than there are various clubs for extra curricular such as cultural etc.
- The main Festivals in Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya is Technical fest every year in our B.tech department, rather than various sports and cultural programs organized by societies every year.
- In general, life in GGU is good. There are a lot of memories ( final year ), a lot of pressure for studies , jobs and for higher studies .
