Placements and Internships
- I have done a private internship in Wipro Pvt Ltd, but I didn't get any stipend.
- Various companies come for campus placement.
- Avg salary is about Rs 4 LPA around 80% students get placed, the highest package is Rs 18 LPA.
- Alumni network is okay.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Two hostels are there in K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, both of them have different facilities one costs around Rs 50000 per annum another one around Rs 1 lakh per annum.
- PG options are available nearby.
- Food is awesome in canteen it costs Rs 50 per meal.
- Infrastructure is nice, the whole campus has WiFi, the library is one of the biggest in Mumbai, quality if classrooms can be improved.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Admission takes place through DTE cap rounds and Institute level rounds including Gujarati linguistic minority round.
- Maharashtra state CET is also considered for admission.
- Cut-offs are around 135/200through DTE and about 120/200 in minority rounds.
Academics and Faculty
- In K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering, Vidyavihar, Mumbai, the classes starts at 9:30AM till 5:15PM, it comprises usually of one practical session of 2hours,a lunch break of 45 minutes and 5 lectures of an hour each.
- The Quality of teaching is very nice, all the teachers are very co-operative, use of videos, slides is also made.
- Overall experience is awesome campus is very large.
Fees and Scholarships
- Course fee in K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering is around Rs 1.25 lakhs per annum.
- Ratan tata scholarship is available for toppers, and minority classes.
- Loans are easily available from banks

- Various committees are present, various clubs to cultivate and enhance your hobbies are there in K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering.
- Tech festival-Abhiyantriki Cultural festival-Symphony Sports festival-Shield are celebrated.
- College life is enjoyable along with proper management of studies.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Eligibility criteria are clearly on the basis of marks that we got in MH-CET, JEE-Main score, admission procedure is as done on the basis of DTE rules. To get admission in this college we have to apply for test that is MH-CET or JEE mains. The cutoff of this college are high, it's not easy to take admission in this college, but if come under Gujarati minority then some chance is given to them as some low cutoff is selected for them, in 2017 the general cutoff was 152 and minority cutoff was 116 for mechanical engineering.
