Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Eligibility Criteria for entrance in SRM university was above 75% in the board exams and an SRM Entrance Examination conducted by the University. If you applying for School of Computing Branches like CSE, IT, Software, For CSE you should get a rank within the top 15k, for branches like IT and Software a rank within 30k would suffice. If you are Interested in the other core branches like mehanical you should be within 15k, for ECE and EEE you should be within 20k. All these ranks are applicable for getting a seat in the Chennai Campus of SRM University which is the Main Campus. For other Branches like Civil, Chemical, Mechatronics etc if you get a rank within a bracket of 30k you might get in. All these statistics are from the time when i got into the University. It changes every year but you get a hold of the pattern from these.
- Talking about the University, Academics is not that great i guess you should keep your expectations at the ground level you won't get very highly qualified teachers for all subjects, but i guess you should be prepared for it anyways as this is no IIT. But the good part is SRM has a lot of supporting teachers under whom you could work for a project which will always be beneficial for you.
- Talking about the Technical aspect of the University, at present SRM financially supports more than 25 technical teams participating in National and International level competitions, this is the best part about SRM, i guess it has the most number of Tecnhicnal teams which pan out in areas such as Autonomous Vehicles, Racing Vehicles, Underwater Vehicles, SurfaceWater Vehicles, Off Road Vehicles, Sattellite Teams, Humanoid Robotics Teams and many more to add to the roster.
- Hostel Life is like most of the colleges, i guess no one is happy staying in the hostels and i guess Mess food is always treated as mess food as the food standards plummet down when you compare it with your home food so no complain there. But you atleast have a good variety ie., North Indian and South Indian, you can choose either of them anytime.
- Culturally SRM hosts a TechFest called Aaruush and a Cultural Fest named Milan and many more associations under various departments. you have some world class talented people over here for that. So in that area SRM doesn't lack even a bit.
- Campuswise the chennai campus is humangous spread along Potheri. Infrastructure is Average, but the Labs are well equipped. SRM does spend a lots of funds procuring all the latest technology for Research, but lacks the students who are willing to adopt that. But that i guess depends on the quality of the students.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : 65% aggregate marks in PCB 12th. The admission procedure is very simple and easy like you have to give the SRMJEE exam and get above cutoff marks. Contact the college admission office and come for counselling. Last year the cutoff was over 65%

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility for engineering admission in SRM Institute of science and technology is done by SRM JEE entrance exams. After the entrance, they will announce the rank list, if you are interested in any course and if you can make a guess that they will select with the present rank you can go for the counseling process. During counseling, they will ask to pay around Rs.20000 for registration and they will ask to pay minimum fee amount around INR 1,60,000. The chance that you will get the course that you want is totally dynamic, it depends on the rank you got and no. of people before you. Typically cut off for ECE(Electronics and communication engineering) is 25,000 but after that course will be there but the fee will be increased.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibity criteria is getting 60 percent in board exams and good marks in SRMJEE.The entrance exam which I took is SRMJEE. There is no such Typical cutoff but people who score above 50 percent may get the course they wish.
