Placements and Internships
- I did not get any internship through the University but hope to get so in the future.
- This year 8 students from the masters programme grabbed high end jobs. Other than that the University has a placement team which mainly works for the engineering department. The social science department does not have much exposure.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- The girl and boy hostels are separately situated but are near or in the University campus only. The fees also for the hostel is not very high.
- PG accommodation is also easily available near the University.
- There are over 15 canteens in the University. Daily meal doesn't cost over Rs 30 to 40 and the food is of good quality.
- The infrastructure in Jamia Millia Islamia is very good. There is free WiFi with limited data use per student per in all the University.
Academics and Faculty
- The faculty of social science at Jamia Millia Islamia is very good according to my experience and knowledge that I have gained in this one year. The staff is very helpful and the teachers in economics department are always there to help solve our doubts and problems. The guest faculty we had of trainee teachers wasn't as I would have wanted but even they were very helpful. Our core classes were in the morning aklng with the subsidiary leaving the evening with just one CBCS class. Also, I was given the opportunity to learn a new foreign language, Spanish, in place of English and I am continuing with a diploma in the same. The only thing I don't appreciate is that every student of social science is required to study the language urdu and how to read and write it in the first year. Even though a qualifying subject it adds to the pressure of learning a totally different writing and reading style.
Fees and Scholarships
- Since this is a government minority institute the fees is very low compared to other universities. The fees for my course is around INR 7300 per year.
- There are scholarships which are available easily.
- Loans are easily available.

The admission procedure is simple all one has to do is to fill an online application form and sit for an entrance test. The students are selected according to their performances in the entrance exam. For being eligible for a bachelor's degree on must have completed high school from recognized board with minimum 50% marks.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA CONDUCT EVERY YEAR INTERNATIONAL LEVEL ENTRANCE EXAMINATION. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA IS PASSING HIGHER SECONDARY WITH MINIMUM 55 PERCENT. CUTOFF IS 70 PERCENT.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : For taking admission in Jamia Millia Islamia you should have at least 50% marks in 12th class. There should be no compartment. There are 100 questions in the entrance exam and each question possesses equal marks. There is also negative marking in the entrance exam. Time will be 1 hour and 45 minutes. You should score at least 75 marks in entrance test for being select in the preferred course.
